My goodness! I heard the sound of this Versys 1000 and it immediately caught me. And when I tried it, the engine is so smooth, it rides like butter. The seat and suspension are also very comfortable. I had to buy it. Here is my advice: if you're looking for something right in between sport touring bikes - typically big and heavy - and adventure touring bikes - typically inheriting trail characteristics - I think the Versys 1000 will be on the sweet spot. Take it as light sport touring bike or a heavy adventure touring bike, but it's more like the first, I'd say. Truth is most sport touring bikes are 100% road and can't withstand any lack of pavement. Zero. I'd say the Versys 1000 is road oriented but will endure some light, I mean, real light off road. Just enough to get through. Seriously, don't throw it into the mud, guys. And if you are like me, you will have found the perfect bike.
I bought one in 2021 great bike, they brought it from dealer via Van, I didn't try it before. Sound comming to your ears not only from exchaust, but also from air intake, so it doesnt has to be noisy to others, but you can hear it while driving, nice.
Just sold my Versys for a BMW R1200GSA. Kawasaki Versys makes a great touring bike! Easy, cheap service and no issues whatsoever with my Versys during my ownership. But the BMW is unbeatable in the touring class.
Dude, this is what I like about your review. No one covers the part of starting from stand still. I took a ride on Mt 09, the low end is so weak I have to slip the clutch a lot else it would stall.
I own a ‘18 Versys 1000 and love it. But it’s not a adventure bike. It’s a sport tour. Competition, FJR, Concours 14, ST1300 an so on. My only complaints about mine is no CC or shaft drive for my LD rides.
It might be the slowest but it's more than fast enough. I was very close to getting one last year but I ended up getting a super tenere instead. I would very much like to ride a versys 1000. Coming from a gen 1 FZ1 the super T has a boring engine. But it's enough and I never thought I would want cruise control but I love it and I'm enjoying the shaft drive.
I'm thinking that the 1000SX is too hardcore for me in terms of its position. I tried bikes like BMW K1300S or R1200RS and it simply doesn't work for me to sit in such a way and not have enough wheel travel for my spine to stay safe on bumpy roads.
So far I've enjoyed the most KTM 1290 Super Adventure R for its performance and low speed stability and precision, and BMW R1250GS for amazing handling and balancing at any speeds. If this one had the performance and sound of a KTM, it would be mechanically a complete perfection. That's a personal opinion.
Bought a 2019 Versys 1000 GT and found it dull, I changed it for a 2020 H2SX SE+ this was just too much for the road and too much money tied up. I then sold the H2SX and bought a 2019 Tracer 900 GT this was lighter and more fun than the Versys 1000 but I missed the excitement of the H2SX. Finally I traded the Tracer 900GT in for the 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4S and now have the touring abilities of the Versys and Tracer with the excitement of the H2SX but its not quite as quick a good thing to be fair the H2SX was too much in one bike.
@@mrEz87 servicing is no longer a issue oil service ever 2 years or 9000 miles valve service every 36000 miles no belts to do on the V4 plus a 4 year unlimited mileage warranty. Ducati service costs and intervals were the reason I wouldn't buy a Ducati before this model came out.
@@ItsAllJustBollox they've transformed their motogp bikes in last couple of years, I really do hope they can do it for the reliability too! Hope it goes well for you, safe riding!
Moim zdaniem to obok BMW R1250GS i KTM-a 1290 Super Adventure R, najlepszy sprzęt do... miasta :)
I'm not French. But this explains it all. Otherwise watch the video and my explanation of the two perspectives and two separate lists of reasons to buy or avoid.

Picking up a new Versys 1000 this week. 😃It checked all the boxes for me.
Tell me about your first ride!
I too am picking up a 2018 this weekend 👍
I hope you like it!

Risky move! But the engine sound - man, that definitely is something!

sold my gen 1 versys for a R1250 gsa it knocks sock of the verseys
Thanks for sharing that! I've also heard good things about reliability here and I'm glad you're confirming that. Cheers!

And I find the mto7 such a heavyweight when steering at low speed
I believe it's important as no one can avoid it, hence it matters. I'm glad you appreciate it. Cheers!

It’s the slowest one as well. Definitely would make more sense to be shaft driven

Me encanta la Versys 1000, probablemente sea mi próxima moto. Esperando la actualización de colores para 2023. Buen vídeo ✌️.
Just got it last week. So far I’m having fun.
If only we could extract more power from it 😕
I would gladly replace my ninja 1000sx (torture machine) for it...
All the best with your bike then!
Could you please do a comparison between 1000sx and versys 1000

@@VToldsMotoShow Thanks for the insight mate 🤗
loved my gen 1 versys had it for 7 years now on a bmw r1250 gsa
Hope you like the GS even more!
Always great assessment.Thanks.
I'm glad you like it! Cheers!

Unfortunately your next reason for replacing will be service and maintenance costs. Kawasaki and Yamaha are kings.

I have a 2019 and because I hate the transmission so much, every time I ride it; I think about getting rid of it!
I dont understand why the Pillion seat is so high.
It's not an Adventure motorcycle. Stop saying it. It's not hard. It's a Sport Touring motorcycle.

have You tested Base or S model suspension?
Nope, I've only ridden the SE.
Not a pretty motorbike..the exposed exhaust system is ugly
Youre englisz i very łelll 😅
A book zapłać ;)
You also made a video on why NOT to buy the Versys 1000.

No surprise you're French.

I wouldn't say that myself.
