A Japanese like you who happened to know his existence for the first time is possibly immersed too much in korean stuffs that you don't bother to watch your own Japanese series. That's why you never know of his existence prior to First Love. What a shame!

I keep watching this magical drama over and over again. For me, Mr. Kido has an powerful presence every minute he is on screen, more than any other actors. I am not a film critic but emotionally, I could feel Namiki’s boundless love,his rebellious charm & excruciating guilt in later years because of what happened to his first love. Mr. Iwasaki should also be praised for the soundtrack of this drama. I could feel the stars, smell of lilacs, painful partings, joyful encounters, longing and so much more through his music. A really stunning cinematic hypnosis, thank you Japan ❤
Both of them were out of performance in the first love series. In fact they performed the youth part that was better than adult part in this series. Well done.
