Very helpful. My 1999 300-E has a wire that goes across the rear bumper. I'm not sure what that is for.

It's likely the antenna for the cell phone that was built into the car. No longer functional of course

Thanks for the clear video. I am guessing those drains on either side are the bottom of the elusive rear pillar C sunroof drains. I have never be able to find them. May be a good time to check to see if plugged.

You forgot a couple steps/screws… this isn’t 100% correct. Im sure your car was just missing them thats why you didn’t mention it.

The extra step you forgot is the screw on both sides behind the wheel liner. Holding the bumper.
Also your car is probably a 2001 down, 2001-2002 has 3 extra screws inside the trunk liner on each side holding down the bumper!
