Late to the party I know, but no, Squidward does in fact have tentacles. The suckers are only on his 'hands' and 'feet'. In fact, it would be more accurate to say he only has tentacles if we are going by this alone.
This comic actually made me learn more about squids and octopuses that I didn’t know. 😮 Also, that moment when 4 mentioned Squidward’s tentacles made me laugh really hard! That was a great dub, Yume! And happy birthday once again! 🎂
I’ve actually thought about this once If inklings cools use their tentahair like arms, that would come in handy (pun intended) for inklings like Callie, when it’s necessary, she can reach things high up without having to climb and end up possibly triggering her fear of heights, she could also use them for hugging other cepholings when her arms are full or when she wants to jeep a cold cephaling warm during a bitter cold winter. And Pearl, she could stretch or grow her tentahair so she can finally reach the cookies on shelf, not to mention her suckers could stick to the cookie jar so she won’t run the risk of accidentally breaking the cookie jar As for octolings, they could use their suckers to carry extra stuff (presumably and preferably small accessories) if their arms are already full Now that I think about it… INKLINGS’ AND OCTOLINGS’ TENTACLES ARE JUST FUNCTIONALLY FASHIONABLE HAIR! “Functionally fashionable” would also be a great way to describe inklings and octolings 01:37 HEY, I didn’t know Ayumi was a SpongeBob fan! It seems so like her though
It’s funny that 4 realised that Squidward being an octopus instead of a squid, 8 speaking in Octarian is pretty interesting and also love the burger vs pizza callback! Awesome voice work as always, Yume! Happy Birthday! Stay cool! 🐙🎉💙🥂💙🎉🦑
Agent 4: wait, does that mean that Squidward Tentacles doesn’t have tentacles??? Agent 3: Why is THAT of all things your second concern? I agree with 4. This is a very serious matter.
Squid: 10 limbs are 8 arms and 2 tentacles Octopus: 8 limbs are 8 arms Inkling: 10 limbs are 6 tentacles, 2 arms, 2 legs Octoling: 8 limbs are 4 tentacles 2 arms 2 legs Human: 4 limbs, 2 Legs and arms I think this right? I think that might need either go take class in anatomy or ask if could count on both 3, 4 and 8 to stay still.
It's a matter of technicality. If we only see inklings and octolings as squids and octopuses respectively then their limbs can still be divided in arms and tentacles, in which case the inklings' tentacles would be the longer ones in their hair (as implied in the first hairstyles). Now if we concede that they're too different from their ancestors and/or that their limbs have changed too much in shape and function, we can classify them differently. For example, we can divide them as you did: 2 arms, 2 legs and 4 tentacles.
Based on what I remember about Squidward Tentacles's character design and the comic defining cephalopod arms and tentacles, Squidward has six tentacles - two that function as his "arms" and four that function as his "legs." Although I remember that one scene when he was describing the three signs that the Hash-Sligning Slasher will show up at the Krusty Krab - he held up both his tentacle "arms" and then a third tentacle in lieu of using three fingers.
Actually if you look at Squidwards design he has no suckers on any part of his limbs but the tips, meaning that has nothing but tentacles. He just has no true arms.
Lillie: “Does this mean that mean I can challenge against Agent 8 hair or Agent 4 leg in arm wrestling match?” *She soon image accidentally pull Agent 8 tentacle and easy victory against 4 foot* Lillie: “I think either way I’ll defeat them, I’m just too strong.”
Happy bday Yume, I just want to say, you’ve inspired me to continue practicing my voice acting, and help keep my Splatoon hyper fixation going, Hope your birthday was amazing and that you played your best on the private mode stream. 😊
It's Squidward Tennis Balls, 4... or Squidward Tortellini (Looking back at his design... Squidward only has suckers on his hands and feet, not the entire thing. So... yeah, he does have tentacles)
So, in the end, it's only a tentacle if the suckers are on the tip of the arm. Fascinating. You really do learn something new everyday. Nice work Yume, & happy birthday!!
Well squidward does actually have them, his arms *are* his tentacles, it's just that the marine biology terms or whatever you call it sorta clash together with the pre-existing english words, making it a little confusing.
Huh, didn't know about tentacles and arms on a cephalopod. Glad they went with legs rather than more arms, would be weird seeing four arms on the agents as they walk around. The thought sounds cursed!
Happy Birthday Yume!! 🎉🎉🎉 I hope you have (or had) a great day!! I guess it does makes sense that they are not tentacles but arms but I’ve known them as tentacles for the longest time so I’m just going to stick with tentacles. I’ve learnt a lot from this comic! I loved how 8 had to spend some time translating, I wonder that’s what happened in game haha
Well octopusses/octopi/octopodes have been observed to use two of their tentacles to "walk" across the seabed, so technically they have 6 arms and 2 legs.
Now this would come in handy for in My Hero Academia Vigilantes volume 6. The characters argue if a Villain with a cephalopod quirk is an octopus or a squid (while he's a bit of both I think, hence the name Octoid). It's pretty funny imo.
So, me and my friend were doing science homework, right? Nothing suspicious. It was about classification, I’m pretty sure. Then we were supposed to classify an octopus using some kind of chart. In a way, you helped me do my science homework! Sooo thanks, Yume!
@@nigo2191 I’d have to go back and look, but I’m pretty sure, lol. I feel like squid ward is more of a cross breed where he has the 2 tentacles but his legs are arms oddly enough, it appears that he only has 6 limbs for some reason and has a octopus looking forehead, I am not an expert on the matter but this evidence leads me to believe he is some sort of deformed fusion.
Squids and octopi have three hearts, meaning you'd have to stab an ink/octoling in the chest three times minimum. (Unless you for some reason have a comicly large knife)
