Trudeau states they will build 3.9 million homes by 2031. That’s about 7.5 years from now. 3.9 million / 7.5 = 533,333 homes per year. It means 44,444 homes every month. It means 1,461 new homes every day. It means 182 new homes every hour. How likely is this? CMHC states housing starts in 2023 were around 223,000 and 240,000 in 2022. Only in 2021 did starts go over 300,000 (according to Trading Economics). What are the odds the government can double production? Also, by trying to do so, even if they do, this will massively increase demand for building materials and workers. This will drive up the cost of materials, labour, and land. These new houses will be some of the most expensive ever built. No one will be able to afford these houses.

These homes will never be for us because there are millions of immigrants that get them first, If you want a home you have to move to a new country, I know people under 30 who left and now OWN homes and im not talking they got a 30 year payment plan, Mexico for one place is called a 3rd world country but people who went are saying it's 100x better than canada now health care is way better food and rent is 90%, less than here . I looked at a place there 2 bed condo everything included $85k vs that same place in my city 3 hours away from Toronto $400k. My 4 adult kids like thousands of other working people are escaping this summer because they know a life here means poverty and no kids of their own., So he if forcing this generation of English canadians out and with them the next generation as well, He has killed our county and he knows it and he is proud of it and the world knows it.

I think that the federal government should have a plan to allocate low cost, agricultural use only land for new farmers. There are probably other areas in the food supply chain that should be addressed that I am not aware of.

This is a great opportunity to employ alternative energies in a large way by including solar, wind and geothermal in every new house built

Another doubling of debt is what he's going for. He has stated he doesn't think about monetary policy while the budget will balance itself. I'm relieved that younger Canadians have finally caught on that they're the ones who will be saddled with crippling debt and high inflation which will no doubt keep interest rates high and housing unaffordable.
