What if someone tells you that tamil or malayalam or even marathi is your mother tongue and forces you to learn it? What I am saying is every Indian should speak 3 +1 language..... . 1)English for International use. 2) Hindi for National use. 3)Language of your State/Tribe. There is no gender disparity whatsoever....education, work, profession, facilities etc. AND in the context of panchayats, if a woman wants to contest for it, nobody will stop her..and if a female candidate wants to rely on her spouse for certain decisions then that's totally their personal choice and comfort The only gender related difference you will see is in household chores, the work is divided between the spouses as per requirements of a certain festival or as per the skill and strength required in that household chore...which again, you'll see certain dishes being cooked by males becoz they excel in it, etc
