HP regen builds are really the best faith builds, imo. With all of the 'mindgames' that players try with their silly parry/katana builds, nothing messes with people more than an opponent who won't die and benefits from every second the fight goes on.
Heh, if anything, it makes it pretty easy to practice parrying the running r1 with how much time the build buys you. 'Mysteriously' sprinting in circles is such an obvious tell. The only thing I would change about this build is the shield ring since most people would catch on pretty quick what your build is the _moment_ they deal damage and see all the health start to come back. Maybe something like a dragonslayer spear(EDIT:or swordspear(though it would take a few more levels for req)) to benefit from the points in faith? Swap the shield ring out for Leo and instead rely on the +10 blessed caestus for the regen. You lose points for regen, but the trades would be immaculate since you could just heal after them.
Actually, looking back and remembering when poise didn't exist and my own faith builds ran off a +10 Raw Astora SS, the build it pretty solid. I guess it just irks me to rely on a ring that depends on you being at full health. Still, no better build than a regen one to utilize its effects.
if you really want to make it op just substitute homing crystal soulmass for the spell and recast it the second it fires. Also you can use a heal spell while its over your head and it will fire if anyone attacks you. Just fought a guy last night using this and afterward i friended him and fought him again and again trying different things to beat it. Nope.
Having quit Dark Souls 3 PVP(and DS3 altogether) it's good to know I can always enjoy an upload from you. Also, thanks for being one of 3 people that plays this game that knows the straight sword has an R2 attack.
DragonGodMillionare I actually never knew what the Dark Sword R2 and weapon art looked like until I tried it for myself. Most of the time straight sword strategy is "mash r1 until stamina is depleted, rinse and repeat" which is what made me sick of seeing straight swords. I've haven't played Demon Souls yet so I wouldn't know what the Penetrator attacks look like, although I imagine it's a fair amount of thrust attacks.
K MT In demons souls the penetrators sword special feature is it's thrust attacks. I mean it's thrust damage is insane which is funny considering all it's other attacks are sub par at best.

It's fine because it's his entire build. At SL 100, to have that much regen and tankiness he basically needs to sacrifice any other stats or strats. Conversly, estus takes no stats at all to heal you to full. It's artificial tankiness that you don't build for.

Trusty Patches well, I don't think weapon and body healing buffs are actually bad, I mean, his whole build was made around the concept of tanking and healing, and it actually takes some time to heal, unlike estus, where it's just about pressing X. Plus, he's giving up some serious AR capabilities in exchange (raw astora sword...)
Invade using this build in the graveyard outside the Cathedral of Deep. Wear evil eye ring instead of Life Ring and get hp back for each reanimated corpse. You can stack Arstor's Spear passive skill as well
You know how to make this even better? Level your vigor up to 25 and your vitality to 45 and replace the life ring with the prisoners chain. You'll get less health but crazy flat defense and absorption if you wear full smoughs or havels, which in turn means that you'll take even less damage and the lost health will be recovered much quicker because it'll regenerate a higher percentage of your health in the same time.
Unfortunately absorption doesn't stack like you think it would for PvP, it doesn't shave off near enough dmg for the points invested in heavier and heavier armor.

The real genius of the build is the way it changes your reactions. Most people expect you to roll away when they get a solid hit, while with this build you just stab them in the face.
ring of steel protection? everything except straight up caster is physical. it's a huge buff to tankiness and will help a lot more against combos and heavy pressure.
KinghtofZero00 poise was great don't get me wrong, but imagine what ds3 would be like with poise. You're always outnumbered in pvp, people spamming their straight swords, id hate for them to have poise especially when I'm facing 3 phantoms. This game is so fast paced compared to the others that i can completely understand why they took it out.

One of the things a HP regen build should fear is a double damage build, basically someone who takes a very agressive approach and just keeps attacking, dealing as much damage as they possibly can. Hard to escape to regen because they keep at such close quarters.
straight sword class has always been the best class in all dark souls games. you could argue that rapiers and the great scythe were better in 1 but longsword was definitely the best quality weapon in 2.
Hey Moose love the build, and it just got better. There is a new shield in the DLC that slowly regenerates HP and has pretty good stats. You should add that
this doesn't really work because you have to keep the chime off hand or the 6 hp/s buff goes away instantly. so unless you actually wanted to block that badly keeping the chime out is better.
doodlebobble jones yea but being able to block and still get some hp regen is good, so it allows you to turtle up and still get hp regen. Works well in duels for arena
my jesus fth/lck build uses the anri sword and the millwood shield. with the ring city up you can get a ridiculous boost in physical defense from the ring of steel+3
My build is kinda like this. Basically I stack as many buffs as possible, then go duelist. Blessed curved sword offhand for chaining and parrying (which my phone is trying to autocorrect to partying. What.), and whatever weapon I feel like right hand, buffed if possible. (Mostly dex / faith)
only prob i see with this is once your buff and spell run out u have no regen except princess and on it's own it's near worthless, and only moderate damage to top it off, probably better to go with anri's sword, princess ring, and then either a blessed caestus offhand or if you had the ariandel dlc, the ethereal oak shield which also has the passive heal, for stats building vigor 40, luck 40 , 12 strength, stamina and vitality the rest of the way, depending on armor and preference, aiming for about the 125 meta. other 3 rings would be Ring of Favor +3, Prisoner's chain, and either ring of steel protection +3 or havel's +3 whichever you might need, though the steel ring is better if you're not fat rolling imo, as the less damage you take the less you need to heal, and the bigger pain in the ass you are to kill, of course not getting hit is even better so up to what ya need, though unless you're cosplaying as havel I doubt you'll need his ring. this is the build I made- and use from time to time, see you on the battlefield :) mugenmonkey.com/darksouls3/168843

You mentioned that the chime weapon skill gives you 6 hp regen, but that only applies to Yorshka's chime. To my knowledge the other chimes give you 2hp a second, which would be equal to any +10 blessed infused weapon's 3hp every 1.5 seconds. I would check to be absolutely certain, but I'm pretty sure a fully upgraded caestus would be better.
So I did indeed test it myself, and I'm completely wrong. I may have been wrong since the game's release, but I was so certain that Yorshka's was higher. I'll do some more testing with the flat health you get just for using the weapon skill (I hear it only does that when two handed), but it appears that there are zero factors that change how much the skill gives. Eh, can't be right all the time.
flyn ring + steel ring of protection +2 are allmost essentual on dragons imo , steel ring adds 15% absorption to you when naked aka a dragon, useing it to full effect rather that its extream diminishing scaling with other resistances, light armor at the cost of a ring slot. i use demon fists to keep the weight down, scared flame and dark hand to grab thou poise frames insted of trying to combo ppl with 40+ poise with your 17 poise dmg wepons, they also mix up well with slightly differant timeings and spacing involved and both of the required tools weigh absolutely nothing , scared oath is nice and helps stopping 1shots from lightning but resistance food or a +2light ring work too however i will use a pontifs ring or hourse hoof ring if i dont see any lightning or talismans incomeing (normaly around the time i swap out my lingering dragonring+2 after buffing , dragon roar to instant guardbrake, u can even reverse back step off the end of roar to catch ppl panic rolling away from its cc and if u catch some1 with a combo at any point even with only haf a stamina bar things like the dragon buff or grabing on the end of the wepon art cc allmost ensure a 80%+ hp combo off a clean hit assumeing u can play the stamina game well and actualy land a hit. i also like to take firestorm or chaos storm as it makes for a ok folo up to demon fist wepon art and ppl try to punish it next time they see you cast with pyro flame and u go for a sneaky scared flame to the face. still currently testing this build out and i only have 1 respec left :/ would love to here some thourts but it is generaly a for fun build focused on cosplaying Dark/Bahamut from ff10 he liked to punch stuff too.
with low weight i get around 36-38 AR from flynn ring depending litteraly on what rings i swap too to counter what i see. thats more phys dmg than i would get in flame damige on demonfists with a fire clutch ring (32 ish im prity sure) and isent costing u any additional absorb ontop of your dragon "armor".
Get 30 Vigor, 20 vitality, switch your sword to Blessed Lothric Knight Greatsword +10, or Blessed Dragonslayers axe +10, switch your chime to filianore's chime, and finally get Ethereal Oak Shield (Even +0). Get Rid of Blessed Weapon buff (because it's weak, grant u only 7,5% raw physical damage, and a little regen. Blessed Gem is much more reliable) And with 35faith get bountifull sunlight. Your regen build is improved. Don't need to thank me :D
I've played against similar builds before, with people rolling and running around like parkour-chickens with no heads. Easy to punish, and with that amount of equipment invested in sub-par regen they don't last long.
if your really dedicated to the ultra greatsword build u can do some series damage in one hit on ds2 my damage output with lightning buff was above 1000 damage a hit .

I always use the R2 attacks. Their awesome. However none of them come close to the sexiness of the Penetrator's Sword from Demon's Souls.

i think for a fair pvp he shouldnt usw the heal spells, but blessed buff and the rings are ok i guess

Prisoner's Chain makes you take more damage though, which would defeat the point of the heavier armor.
It also increases your flat defense and health quite significantly, so that makes up for it.

I feel like a weapon with hyper armor would help, weapons with hyper armor usually do well with trading hits, which this whole build excels at.

+DK KR 15% compared to 50 flat ar from DS2. For low attack weapons its worse, but for 400+ attack weapon its way better right now.
flyn ring + steel ring of protection +2 are allmost essentual on dragons imo , steel ring adds 15% absorption to you when naked aka a dragon, useing it to full effect rather that its extream diminishing scaling with other resistances, light armor at the cost of a ring slot. i use demon fists to keep the weight down, scared flame and dark hand to grab thou poise frames insted of trying to combo ppl with 40+ poise with your 17 poise dmg wepons, they also mix up well with slightly differant timeings and spacing involved and both of the required tools weigh absolutely nothing , scared oath is nice and helps stopping 1shots from lightning but resistance food or a +2light ring work too however i will use a pontifs ring or hourse hoof ring if i dont see any lightning or talismans incomeing (normaly around the time i swap out my lingering dragonring+2 after buffing , dragon roar to instant guardbrake, u can even reverse back step off the end of roar to catch ppl panic rolling away from its cc and if u catch some1 with a combo at any point even with only haf a stamina bar things like the dragon buff or grabing on the end of the wepon art cc allmost ensure a 80%+ hp combo off a clean hit assumeing u can play the stamina game well and actualy land a hit. i also like to take firestorm or chaos storm as it makes for a ok folo up to demon fist wepon art and ppl try to punish it next time they see you cast with pyro flame and u go for a sneaky scared flame to the face.
still currently testing this build out and i only have 1 respec left :/ would love to here some thourts but it is generaly a for fun build focused on cosplaying Dark/Bahamut from ff10 he liked to punch stuff too.
with low weight i get around 36-38 AR from flynn ring depending litteraly on what rings i swap too to counter what i see. thats more phys dmg than i would get in flame damige on demonfists with a fire clutch ring (32 ish im prity sure) and isent costing u any additional absorb ontop of your dragon "armor".
did you ever actually use bountiful sunlight? i couldn't see in the video where you did...

U should use Loyds sword ring instead of the life ring
they should bring back dragon bone smasher in the 2nd dlc
Get 30 Vigor, 20 vitality, switch your sword to Blessed Lothric Knight Greatsword +10, or Blessed Dragonslayers axe +10, switch your chime to filianore's chime, and finally get Ethereal Oak Shield (Even +0). Get Rid of Blessed Weapon buff (because it's weak, grant u only 7,5% raw physical damage, and a little regen. Blessed Gem is much more reliable) And with 35faith get bountifull sunlight.

I've played against similar builds before, with people rolling and running around like parkour-chickens with no heads. Easy to punish, and with that amount of equipment invested in sub-par regen they don't last long.
It probably felt like fighting a boss to the others.
People don't seem to see the Difference betwen a Tank and Turtle.

if your really dedicated to the ultra greatsword build u can do some series damage in one hit on ds2 my damage output with lightning buff was above 1000 damage a hit .
it would be pretty hard to beat this build when invading, not having as much health, and not using estus

If u used the Crystal talisman u would also have spells like soul great sword and farron dart in your left hand
The hit detection is still as abysmal as it was in Demon's Souls. Thus the reason why I could never take this pvp seriously.
