WOW! I thought her voice in the 80's was awesome when I was in my 20's... but now in 2023, at age 62, I'm certain that her voice is as close to perfection as humanly possible.
One of the best songs of the 1980's. This version just sold the song again. Awesome voice... always loved the way she sings. This song is timeless as her voice. Thanks !!!
She is one of my most favorite singers of all time!!!! 30 year later I still listen to Til Tuesday songs. Welcome Home is one of my most favorite albums.
She was labeled by NPR as one of the Top 10 living songwriters ten years ago. But it is criminal that, because of record company bs (especially Interscope) that she doesn't have the recognition of, say, a Joni Mitchell, in that her writing is as singularly sublime. I worked as an independent contractor photographer for Interscope, and was a music journalist, at the time Aimee Mann was having trouble over there. I went to interview and jam with Brian Setzer at their offices in NYC and there were hundreds of Marilyn Manson CDs stacked in the hallways. I looked at the A&R guy and said, "Really?... INTERSCOPE puts out Manson?! (as in-- what the hell?) You actually like his music?" The guy said, "No, I don't like his music. We couldn't release Joni Mitchell's albums if we didn't make money from Manson." I have to shake my head... they had one of the most brilliant songwriters since Bob Dylan (Aimee) and they couldn't see what a genius songwriter she was (one only need hear "Coming Up Close" at that point to recognize her genius) and yet they through millions at and promoted the hell out of Manson?? I knew the photographer who created the Manson image. Manson was... I'll hold my tongue. To think Jimmy Iovine had ANYTHING to do with Springsteen's BORN TO RUN is still shocking. Thank goodness Bruce worked with him on that album in the '70s because the album BORN TO RUN never would have been produced by Iovine in the 1990s (unless Desmond Child turned Thunder Road into a Bon Jovi type hit). And people ask me why I chose to be a photographer and not a professional musician... Your comment hit the nail on the head.
Aimee is as beautiful now, in looks and voice, as when this song came out. This song always spurs so many emotions that I can never tell what will come up everytime I hear it. Great song. Beautiful woman. You represent what was great about the 80s.....
Aimee has been one of my favorite female voices and talents for 35 years and this version of her trademark song is an incredible remake into an entirely new audio gift to us
Incredible voice and beauty. Not to mention talent galore. I think she would have been great fun to know as a teenager. Pure energy and seems to have a good head on her shoulders!
I am in love with her all over again, wow such a beautiful version of a beautiful song. The love interest in the video reminds me of myself many years ago. I am glad that person in me died.
Aimee was so beautiful and torn in the Magnolia Soundtrack. her lyrics ached and bled all of our emotions. witnessed her twice. still waiting for #3 at a special venue. i always adored Till Tuesday in their new wave 80's pop daze. this acoustic version is sparse, understated, and elegant.
I heard back in the 90s that this song was about a friend committed to a mental institution and that the original Lyrics were Hush, hush keep it down, down, this is Carry
Elijah Shane , The video shows domestic abuse but, back in the 90s I heard till Tuesday on s radio show say it had to do with a mental patient and they had to change the words due to HIPPA laws.
Love this acoustic version of Till Tuesdays Voices Carry.Thom Yorke did an equally beautiful version of Radiohead's Creep acoustically.Even Dave Grohls acoustic version of Everlong is beautiful.
WOW! I thought her voice in the 80's was awesome when I was in my 20's... but now in 2023, at age 62, I'm certain that her voice is as close to perfection as humanly possible.
Loved the original. Love the reworked version. I'm 63 now. This song has always haunted me. It's amazing. Thank you Aimee.
She aged like wine.
She sings this song so many different ways, and each one is 'the best'.
Majestically haunting, riveting, dark, chilling, and yet very fragile. An absolutly spot on top ten performance of any song..ever. just incredible!!!
agreed! Well said.
STILL LISTENING TO THIS GREAT SONG IN 2023... REALLY LUV THIS
One of the best songs of the 1980's. This version just sold the song again.
Awesome voice... always loved the way she sings. This song is timeless as her voice. Thanks !!!
I have always been in love with this song. This is Aimee at her very best and she has always been someone I truly admire.
This song should be on a soundtrack. Hands down, one of the best songs ever.
She is one of my most favorite singers of all time!!!! 30 year later I still listen to Til Tuesday songs. Welcome Home is one of my most favorite albums.
One of the most underrated singer/songwriters. Aimee is amazing...

Wow, Very Beautiful Lady! Aimee" Shining like a Diamond!"
Man, I didn’t think it was possible to make this song any better than it was. I was wrong.
You mean, "MANN, you didn't think...", right?

Her gorgeousness is not mentioned enough.
Incredible voice and beauty. Not to mention talent galore. I think she would have been great fun to know as a teenager. Pure energy and seems to have a good head on her shoulders!
It captures the angst about living with a controlling narcissist. Timeless, ethereal, and beautiful cries from the codependent.
Yeah, he says shut up a lot!
