preoccupations is the greatest band today. their show in LA this past tour was easily the best performance i've ever seen. they're also the coolest and kindest people to talk to. got to talk to mike and he was so lovely to me and my friend and shifted the conversation so ask us questions and tell us stories. wish everybody listened to them
@@MrDaltonBousum i think anyone who would file an assault charge on another human for spitting is pathetic and weak embarrassing and just plain retarded. I feel bad for anyone thinking that’s ok. Yeah it sucks but find another way to settle it without having to cry to the police. I like the band even more now.
When they came to Metz 57 [France] in 2016 on their European tour, I remember a magnificent show giving off an incredible emotional dimension. I've been following their work since Viet Cong and with each new creation I get a monumental slap. Arrangements concludes once again that Preoccupations remains one of the best bands in this vast post-punk revival scene where too many bands land and exasperating copies swarm. Moreover these guys are ultra cool and very down to earth people.
Let's not get carried away, but yeah, they rule. Not everybody is cut out for post-punk. Some people just operate on a higher frequency 😄
Don't worry, I've made up for all the people who don't listen to them. #1 band on Spotify lol
One of THE best live acts going right now. I’ve been to 11 shows since their debut came out every time just blows me away. We need to start taping and trading these guys live sets like the grateful dead.

Such a great record, glad these guys are back on KEXP.
Just absolutely amazing. I love tearing up the grass - they could just play it over and over. By far one of the best bands out there and the guys are just super friendly. I cannot say enough good things. The songs bring emotions up in me that make me happy I'm alive and have a shot under the sun today. God bless you all.
It's my first time with this band. Very cool, definetely will check more of their music
you should check out also the previous mutations of this band, called Viet Cong and even before that, Women. Both were superb.

According to setlist fm they always open their recent shows with the entire new album. I'm looking forward to seeing them again in february!

I wish this new album got more praise. Such a unique listening experience especially with headphones. I’ve seen them live and they’re just as good if not better than in studio.
First time hearing this band. Kicking back with headphones on, lights out, eyes closed (opened eyes to type this) after work 11:30pm completely relaxed enjoying the music. Perfect!
You also gotta check out their KEXP performance from 7 years ago back when they were called Viet Cong. The live version of their song Death is incredible
@@dylangerescapeplanoh YES! That was the first performance I've ever watched from them, and it was absolutely a banger, even though I first quit listening at Death because it was too damn long 😂🤣
It hurts my heart a little bit to see how old and bearded they are now. I really hope they can keep up the same energy from 8 years ago when I first discovered them

@@nickjaeger I’ll be honest 2022 as far as new bands/albums it was less than stellar for me. Mgmt 11-11-11 has started to grow on me particularly Tell it to me like it is and Who’s Counting.

Absolutely loving the new album (their best one yet - !imho! - , and yes, I listened a lot their earlier incarnations as Viet Cong & Woman), Advisor with its kind of krautrock feeling, being particularly a personal fav.... But also in the same time, for some reason, I just cannot dig the singing voice of Matt in this video, sorry...
Or not. Tomorrow I will see them live at last in Budapest, and I will absolutely go nuts. Cant fckn wait...(These bands and their live shows are the only reason I'm still around)

Love this band with all of my heart. Just wonder if it's just me that feels like Flegel would sound a lot better live if he ditched the throaty rasp and adopted a more breathy singing like he does in recordings.
