Interesting. I don't call myself a theist. As a Christ-follower I cannot conceive of God separate from Christ, or Christ separate from God. The Father is in the Son (the Beloved), the Son is in the Father, and we are in Christ. Christ is the expressive image, the precise representation of God to humanity, and Christ is the exact representation of the ideal human to God the Father. Early Christians were rejected by their Jewish brethren as polytheists and heretics, and rejected by the Greeks and Romans as atheists. In Christ God is experienced as the personal revelation of Almighty God assuming human form and carrying human suffering, disease, misery, oppression, and condemnation all the way to crucifixion and death. Christ is so much more than an argument for theism. Jesus is the kingdom of God come down to earth, the Word Made Flesh, God with us forever!
I like your thoughts on this but you have not mentioned where the devil and his angels are in this. If the universe is faith or God then the devil would have to be in God, which he is not. War broke out in Heaven. The devil was cast out. God is the Creator of what is but He is not the universe. He is not the creation but the Creator. I agree with Augustine that there is more than we see and understand. I see no reason why God, Who is bigger than our understandings can't be in a dimension or universe that we know nothing of, but yet it very real. Paul speaks of us being surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses. I think it is a worthy endeavor to try and understand what is and more so to try and make our understanding relatable to those who for one reason or another have given up on the idea of God. Let's not put God in a box (albeit a huge box) and say that He is the universe, His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts. Blessings to you as God continues guiding you and as you continue to serve Him.
