Manchester City suffered an unexpected defeat against Lyon in the Champions League. The French club took the lead thanks to a goal by Maxwell Cornet after Fabian Delph failed to cut Nabil Fekir's pass. Lyon captain Fekir doubled his team's lead after a mistake by Fernandinho, who lost the ball in his own half of the field.
Bernardo Silva restored the hosts' chances after a pass from Leroy Sane, but Manchester City could not avoid their first defeat of the season.
This is Manchester City's fourth defeat in the Champions League, a historic acheivement as the first English team to lose four consecutive matches in the Champions League. Head coach Pep Guardiola was disqualified.
