When Felicia Day said that she's attracted (job wise) to shows that create communities, I think that also goes for a lot of fans as well. Because I would say that at least 95% of the shows that I am now or have ever been a fan of, have created communities in some aspect or another. Now, when it comes to Supernatural, they have of course created the largest and the most amazing communities, I think in the history of television. Not only with fanbase, but through their organizations, fundraisers, support groups, etc...
They have gone WAY BEYOND the call of duty to make a respectable name for themselves. I don't think there has ever been another show on network television who has achieved as much greatness as that of Supernatural. The very well deserved love and support these actors and writers get from the SPNFamily is amazing!
Paul I agree!!! I personally know people who have gotten through depression and hard times because of Supernatural and the support from our fandom. Spn fam rules!!!!

the cast helped me so much, knowing i wasn't alone with some of my current issues...they're such amazing people (even i dont usually agree with their politics lmao)

Jensen's voice range is pretty amazing, i think it can fit/be many different characters so it's cool that it found a way to grow and become Dean. The same applies to Jared too. Their voices change and mature as their characters do.

Now that I think about it this definitely applies to Misha as well.
I died from laughter when Jensen put on his high voice. I find it kinda interesting that sometimes a voice can deepen long after someone has "finished" growing. Even female voices sometimes go lower too.
Can you imagine if other people did show up to the audition and one of them didn't get the part

(I always imagined that Eric Kripke really wanted those two so he hired a hitman to take out all of the other auditions so that only Jared and Jensen showed up meaning only they would get the roles... hehehe...)

That is so crazy to me. it's like they were destine to make this show and star in it. No one else showed up for the audition and they both from texas, like cowboys, country music and names start with J.

Seriously tho, how come no one else showed up?! this cant be why they got the roles. Wasn't the pilot like a big thing back then?
I know this comment is 3 years old lol but anyway: it’s not that no one else wanted to audition, it’s that only J2 were invited to audition for the network. I think because both of them had already worked on WB shows, the casting directors probably knew that they’d fit the roles. Jensen also mentions in another panel that he auditioned originally using Sam’s lines because the show was auditioning Sam first. And he was told about Dean afterward. So when they met it was probably a callback after an initial audition round.

Man I like sam and dean there good actors it would be cool meeting sam and dean. I glad I give supernatural a chance I don't really like the first episode but it just got better and better as the session go on. Can not wait to see how Jason and Jared next adventure on supernatural. Sam and dean great acting.
Jensen's story is confusing because in this one he makes it sound like he only read for Dean when in reality they both auditioned separately first, Jensen read for Sam separately from Jared, got a call back that they liked someone else for Sam and if he'd be willing to read for Dean, came back, read for Dean, and then the audition they're talking about at the end of this video is actually just the callback? Like the callback is supposed to have the top like 10-50 people out of the hundreds or thousands that auditioned but I guess no one else made it to the callback stage and this was then technically more of a chemistry read?
Idk, all their different stories about how the auditioning process for this show went down makes it really confusing.
