I have the same rangefinder. Extremely simple to use and it's rugged enough that you don't have to baby it. I just throw it in the cup holder of the cart and I'm good to go. I really enjoy your style of course vlogs. I like seeing the thought process behind every shot and the commentary from after the round with hindsight as to what was or wasn't a good on-course decision. I've really been focusing on thinking through every shot lately to play for the smart miss and watching your videos has helped me out with this. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for responding Brendan :) Understand now...I've never come across a hazard like that here in the UK..looking forward to seeing your back 9. Cheers Steve
These just get better and better. Been following ur channel even b4 it was be better golf (via secret in the dirt) and as a passionate duffer just wanted to say thx for ur great content.
Really enjoy your golf journey Brendon. Your game seems to have moved on a lot in the last 12 months. I've only been playing for just over 2 years. I play of 16, and you videos with monty have really helped my game. Keep up the good work. I'm in the UK by the way.
First off....Happy Birthaday!!! This is one of my favorite Vlogs of yours. It was nice and relaxed with the ability to share your thoughts while playing. Keep up the good work.
I started golf about 1 1/2 years ago and I am really inconsistent with my drives but my irons are great and your videos have been helping me so thanks for that. Great front 9 though!
The practice swing and the actual swing with the 3 wood on 6, where you said you really tried to feel no hips were both awesome! That should be your swing thought for ever!
To me, the swing looked really good this round. As a fellow hip spinner, it's been interesting to see the path you took to more consistency. Calming down my lower body during the transition definitely changed my game entirely. Great stuff.
First time I have watched and enjoyed very much. I play my golf on the Shetland Isle where the most northerly golf course.in the UK is I will be watching a lot more. Thank you.
Happy Birthday Brendan! Just played a high school tournament where there was OB on it seemed like every hole one one side, and then hazards to the other side. Lots of irons and 3 woods and safe shots
First off, happy birthday! I love your channel! Secondly, if you ever get the chance, you should play golf in Northern Michigan. I just got back from my yearly golf trip and we had a chance to play Arcadia Bluffs, Mi......its sits right on the coast of Lake Michigan.....keep up the great work! Thanks!
I love my Nikon Coolshot. Super small, but excellent in grabbing yardages, particularly for me having really shaky hands. Great finder and not very expensive.
Happy birthday I think your game would benefit from a strategy change. I would suggest you start playing the holes with your approach shot in mind. You hit a pretty sharp wedge from about 95. So you play each hole subtracting that yardage from the holes total distance i.e. That one par4 that was like 285 or so would be a 190yd tee shot....leaving you a 95 yard full wedge shot. Far easier to hit full shots consistently then half or feel shots. Also you'll find a few more fairways. Game is looking great and love the course vlogs
Good video. Enjoyed it. Nice swing. Might be better if you played matches as opposed to playing as a single, but hey, look forward to seeing some more!
(1) belated happy birthday to the best golf vlogger on TH-cam. #2 if you start playing a lot in the OC let me know. I'd be more than happy to play with you and help you film your rounds. I have a Canon G7x that I've been wanting to use on the course.
Happy belated birthday. Very nice. I think this is the first one I saw you was under par in a round. Did you get to finish the entire 18 hole round ? I think for You instead of working on the iron cast drill , I would recommend you to really leverage the ground like a suction cup. This will give you a powerful base that is stable and your arms will catch up eventually. I wouldn't slow down your power source but instead speed up the other parts by allowing a no tension slinging action. I believe many times people think about the lower half and arms but forgot the core. That should give you better sequence. Want to see an entire 18 hole vlog next time. Thanks and keep up the good work
You are a blunt personality lol you make laugh when I don't think you mean to, when you described your putting routine then made the right to left par putt, it's good that your so passionate
People pull the ball left because they turn their shoulders open right away like a baseball player trying to hit it down the left base line. We need to turn our shoulders in a way so they are still aligned to the target at impact. To do that, the right shoulder turns under the left shoulder.
I was wondering if I could like send you videos or pictures of me at the range and maybe get your feedback about my swing because something just feels off and I've looked at pictures and I just can't pin point it
i'm pretty sure you're already very aware of this but imo if you'd rotated more instead of laterally sliding in the downswing you'd flush those woods as you do your irons. cheers :)
Great quality VLOG Brendon again at a punishable course by the look of things. Happy Brithmark also! I'm not sure if the rule has changed recently, but just before you had the 2nd putt on the 7th Par 3, you removed a piece of crud between your ball & the hole, using the palm side of your hand. I was informed a while back, that you are only allowed to use the back of your hand to sweep away stuff?! I could be wrong though....Enjoyed it, keep 'em coming!
Decision: 16-1a/9 Brushing Loose Impediments Off Line of Putt with Palm of Hand Q.A player, with about one dozen strokes with the whole palm of his hand, attempted to remove small leaves, which are difficult to remove by any method, from his line of putt. Is this permissible? A.Yes, provided the player did not press anything down (Rule 16-1a(i)) and, if the surface were roughened, he did not do so with the intention of testing the surface of the putting green (Rule 16-1d). Given the nature of his acts, any doubt as to whether he pressed anything down should be resolved against the player. www.usga.org/rules/rules-and-decisions.html#!decision-16
You may be aware of this but you're alignment can be a little bit hit or miss sometimes. Paying attention to this in adiition to your swing thoughts could definitley benefit in my very unqualified opinion. Happy birthday by the way
The reason your pelvis wants to rotate is because its your natural athlete within you. Dont fight it, it is where your power comes from. If your hitting it left an right look towards your release first.
Happy Birthday Brendan!! Great vlog and a solid front nine mate :)) Really enjoyed listening to your thought process on each shot....thats something I'll take from this and try and employ in my game. Quick question regarding your lost ball on the 2nd.....shouldn't you have hit a provisional or when not finding your ball in OOB, gone back to the tee to be playing your 3rd? I'm not super hot on the rules...so would appreciate some clarification on this please guys.. Cheers Steve
I kept saying OB but it was not OB just a environmental hazard so you treat it just like a water hazard and take a 1 shot penalty and drop 2 clubs no closer to hole from where it went in.
If I'm playing a course for the first time I'll go on Google Earth the night before and make my own yardage book. Mostly just tee shots, distances to fairway bunkers, carries, distance to OB or hazard. A lot of tee shots will look scary unless you've seen it overhead and know where you're actually safe.
Uh-oh! I smell a competition brewing! Let me know when you're ready. I'm going to take some time and watch your work. BTW: I like the energy in your vlogs. It's upbeat and positive. Very cool! Keep it up.
How did you only bogey #2 when your ball was lost and you played from where it was lost? Should have gone back to the tee or at least added 2 strokes rather than one.
Those were O.B. stakes not hazard stakes.. So, Keith is right and if you re-teed would you have kept it inbounds? The world may never know. At a minimum that was a double bogie but besides hole #2, solid golf round!
Originally I was under the impression that it was an illegal drop but after rewatching you can see those posts are yellow. So it wasn't an OB lost ball and he was allowed to take a drop.
Best golf channel on TH-cam full stop.
Oh yeah I agree, :) thanks
Watching your videos has helped my game alot! First year where Im playing courses weekly and just recently hit a milestone of 98. thanks BBG!
I have the same rangefinder. Extremely simple to use and it's rugged enough that you don't have to baby it. I just throw it in the cup holder of the cart and I'm good to go.

+drhopkinspath wow, you're an OG sub. Thx, back nine of this round is even better, content wise
I find it odd how much I like watching this guy vlog rounds. Ha! And, you sound exactly like me when I talk to myself playing. Good stuff.
Really enjoy your golf journey Brendon. Your game seems to have moved on a lot in the last 12 months. I've only been playing for just over 2 years. I play of 16, and you videos with monty have really helped my game. Keep up the good work. I'm in the UK by the way.
+Neville James Autos Thx NJ, some awesome vlogs from Virginia up starting tomorrrow
Happy B-Day! Loved the video, specially love the way you plan out your shot before you hit it.
Keep up the good work
First off....Happy Birthaday!!! This is one of my favorite Vlogs of yours. It was nice and relaxed with the ability to share your thoughts while playing. Keep up the good work.
+Dan DeLave thanks double D!!!
Happy Birthday - good video. May the birdies fly with you on the back 9 aswell :D
Thx!
Great shot, thanks!
good vlog. i feel ya on that snap hook driver thought. i have it too. scares the crap outta me.
To me, the swing looked really good this round. As a fellow hip spinner, it's been interesting to see the path you took to more consistency. Calming down my lower body during the transition definitely changed my game entirely. Great stuff.
Thanks for watching the vlogs John!
Great video BBG! I love the new head covers and great choice on the wedges! I love my sm6's
Thx!
now where is the "witb"
Why do you bring your whole bag out when your ball is on the fringe? Why not just take a putter and a wedge?
Happy Birthday Brendon. Nice front 9 given your first time playing this course.
Thanks Charly!
BE BETTER GOLF FYI just did a refresher on this video. Playing there this Sunday for the first time.
Brilliant Vlog, your best yet, keep up the good work
First time I have watched and enjoyed very much. I play my golf on the Shetland Isle where the most northerly golf course.in the UK is I will be watching a lot more. Thank you.
Scott Shedden thanks for watching. I just looked up your course. Beautiful! I hope to visit someday!
Happy Birthday Brendan! Just played a high school tournament where there was OB on it seemed like every hole one one side, and then hazards to the other side. Lots of irons and 3 woods and safe shots
+History Parodies yeah, it feels like walking a tightrope over gator water
First off, happy birthday! I love your channel! Secondly, if you ever get the chance, you should play golf in Northern Michigan. I just got back from my yearly golf trip and we had a chance to play Arcadia Bluffs, Mi......its sits right on the coast of Lake Michigan.....keep up the great work! Thanks!
I saw that on the grint, looks AWESOME.
I love my Nikon Coolshot. Super small, but excellent in grabbing yardages, particularly for me having really shaky hands. Great finder and not very expensive.
I like how the yardage stays on, it keeps from more false reads.
that's where I'm glad I have a golf app that uses google sat imagery. You can see the hole layout instead of going in blind..
I like to keep my belt buckle pointed behind the ball for as long as possible on the way down. That really sequences me up and it might help you.
+Tom Ross that's it, you got the secret
+BE BETTER GOLF It feels awkward at first but it's so easy to sequence
Can someone make a video about that
Happy birthday

Alles gut zum Geburtstag! Nice looking course, but if you thought this course was tight, you ought to play where I play every week.
Happy birthday Brendon!! Should of called "swing evolution" to play with you. Great vlog thou.
Good video. Enjoyed it. Nice swing. Might be better if you played matches as opposed to playing as a single, but hey, look forward to seeing some more!
nice front side man, happy birthday!
golf swing looks much better than your last vlog. old habits hard to break.
Great birdie on the par 5 :-)
+WanaB Golfer thx! 2nd shot was grest
Great vlog - one of your best yet!
Maybe try holding your finish for a bit after swinging, like you do on your practice swing?
Good 9 and great vlog. One day you should come down and play golf in the Bahamas!
Don't be surprised when I show up!
(1) belated happy birthday to the best golf vlogger on TH-cam. #2 if you start playing a lot in the OC let me know. I'd be more than happy to play with you and help you film your rounds. I have a Canon G7x that I've been wanting to use on the course.
You have some cool gear these days. Happy Birthday!
Thanks.
I love all of your vids bro, keep up the good work😀
Happy birthday!
nice vlog! I have a Nikon too. good value for speed and size.

You are a blunt personality lol you make laugh when I don't think you mean to, when you described your putting routine then made the right to left par putt, it's good that your so passionate
I love putting!
Impressive course management

Are you the caddy in Caddyshack? Great movie!
I'm the first comment. thanks for the tips and I love your golf vlogs keep up the work brendan
are you doing the short back swing and arms follow through on all your clubs? Driver, woods and irons?
Yes, to degrees
Happy birthday
:)
Drain-o! @ 12:36.
BBG: @ 22.30. Why didn't you just drive to the green to get a solid look?
Swamp short right.
Brendon, what are your thoughts on the directed force putter? Looking at getting one.
I like it, I have never used a Mallet but I am trying this one. Use promo code devore50 for $50 off, august only. :)
Part 2 coming ?
use a golf tee for your poor mans shot tracer. Great videos
you're finish looks like a mild arnold Palmer finish lol
I was wondering if I could like send you videos or pictures of me at the range and maybe get your feedback about my swing because something just feels off and I've looked at pictures and I just can't pin point it

Michael, As long as you don't press anything down in the process, you can clear the green of loose impediments however you like. USGA rule 16-1
Ok John, thank you for kindly updating my knowledge of the rules.

Cheers, thanks.
It's not OB. Those areas are all played as lateral hazard on that course.
Happy belated! You gonna keep using those antique/collectable Nike's?
+Scott Alexander Yep! Until a better offer comes along. I am kind of bored with them tho
Keep up the vlog and you'll get another sponsor!
You may be aware of this but you're alignment can be a little bit hit or miss sometimes. Paying attention to this in adiition to your swing thoughts could definitley benefit in my very unqualified opinion.

happy birthday.. do you use a go pro to make these vlogs? how do you mount it.
How long have you been golfing. Your a very good player.
Do you worry about clean grooves on your wedges?
Not really, just a little.
Kinda fun to follow your round on Google Earth with the yardage ruler.
That's cool I need to do that.
Yep. I do the same.
How long have you been playing?
I saw your snip of your score card. Have u thought about using the pga tour caddie app? It will track all of your stats
+inathaniel11 checking now. Only problem with those is I use my phone to Vlog. I need to be like Kevin Gates 2 Phones!
+BE BETTER GOLF I use my phone to do game golf and use the pga tour caddie. It works out.
What kind of rangefinder do you use
NIKON 40
Hole 2 drove into hazard took a drop hit onto green and two putted for a five? Me thinks a 6....
On the 2nd hole did your tee shot go O.B. or was that a lateral hazard?
+Tyler Buick lateral hazard
You don't play all the way back? You're under a 5 index correct?
Are you using a breaking 80 range finder?
Nikon
Link in description
Cool hat, where'd you get it?
Golf store that was going outta biz. La Quinta. thanks
Do you use your phone as a camera? What kind of phone do you have?
awesome outfit today
I don't really care what course you play at. I'm mainly here to see your game and improvements you make via Monte and things like fitness.
:)
You're a cool guy :)
Hey brother. What's your handi?

Enviromental hazard red stakes with green tops same as a water hazard
Yeah, as I re-watched the video I could see they were red stakes. So, bogie it is :-) Nice playing Brandon!
NP:)
Who did you learn more from, Monte or GG?
Monte
dat phil/stenson follow through
"Be Better Golf - DQ"..illegal drop on 2nd lol
I agree that drop looked like it was a rule violation, maybe we didn't see the whole picture from the camera angle?
+Sheldon P I was only bantering
Originally I was under the impression that it was an illegal drop but after rewatching you can see those posts are yellow. So it wasn't an OB lost ball and he was allowed to take a drop.
You don't like Oak Creek?
Love it, it's not on the membership plan tho : (
What's your job?
Television Produce and Editor
+BE BETTER GOLF so you have experience in the video making field. Nice. Keep up the great content!
Course looks empty!! Not surprised at that green fee...
Very few golfers on the course the days that we were there. We loved it.
BE BETTER GOLF The one drawback to golf is when it’s busy and your round takes 4hrs+..
LMAO, Subscribe now on the card...
150$ for that o.0 ?
More about location I guess.
$150 ? wtf.. place looks like shit.
In North Caroline that would be a 40 dollar course ha ha haha
