Hi Pat, no worries about my name! Its not the easiest to spell or remember. Its "Nyree". Really glad you are enjoying the videos. Spread the good word out there for other adopters! Sometimes it's a lovely pathway...so if I can be that support throughout your journey then I will ve thrilled 😊

Thanks for the video it was truly appreciated. Despite having researched for over a number of years focussing on key aspects of preparedness, I found finance was the only focus stressed. Maybe I misunderstood, but the system expressed the statutory 9 months finances the main blocker.

Hi i've got a question about childcare experience, I'm a single adopter and i'm trying to get childcare experience. I started out volunteering in a nursery school but had to take time off because i contracted pneumonia while i was there, i've been off for about 6 weeks recuperating and now feel strong enough to go back, but I'm worried i might contract something else again as nurseries tend to be places where its easier to contract communicable diseases, i've spoken to the adoption agency and they've just said i will need to go back to get more experience. Im worried about falling ill again as my immune system isn't as robust as it used to be (im in my 50s) what would you advise. I have had the pneumonia vaccination since falling ill though.

Gosh, that must have been horrible for you! I'm sure I would feel worried about going back too. 😕 Is there any other way you can get experience with a family or smaller toddler group! Nurseries are the worst for it, I used to run them fir my career.

@@Flylittlebirds thanks for coming back. Yeah it was a nightmare, I havent checked any other options as the social worker i spoke to wasn't very helpful and just kept saying: you need to get more experience, well i'm planning on going back there next week after i've built up enough antibodies for the vaccine to be effective, but i might just try your suggestion. thanks so much.

Would it be a problem to be a single adopter still living at home with a
    parent and sister?

That's a great question! The parent and sister would need to be assessed too. You would be adopting as a household.
