I have the dd2 with the bmw gt2 wheel and I’m having an issue where mid racing the wheel buttons including paddles shifters stop working. Anybody who the fix?

Hello friend, I am having the same problem as you, could you tell me what was wrong? Fanatec told you that you have your device, my steering wheel does the same and it also starts to turn to the left without stopping. I would like to know what opinion you have. Thanks and regards.

I’m having a similar issue except my wheel just shuts off completely. I’m at a loss of what to do.

Hi, are you still having issues with this? I have the exact same problem and its costing me major irating and ruining my endurance races. Have you found a fix?

Dean, I installed a dedicated USB controller which has appeared to solve most of my issues. I still get the odd drop out when i hit something hard, but i put this down to excessive shaking from my rig - i think the USB connector might loose contact. I have a new p1-x rig on the way which has zero flex! I would start with the USB controller, they're only a few ££ from amazon. (Also i dialed down the FF a bit to reduce the shaking/jolts)

Out of curiosity what pedals are you using. I know some pedals if not earthed can cause issues with direct drive wheels

Heusinkvelds. Static can send my screens blank for second but it wasn't the cause of the problem in this instance.

What is your RIG name?? It seems to be Trak Racer RS6. If true, that was a bad news for me. I bought one DD2 and RS6 and they are on the way home 😥😥

Yes it was a RS6. I've replaced it for a Simlab P1X (rock solid). Just make sure you tighten everything up on the RS6, I did notice a few loose joints when i dismantled it so you might get away with it. Also tune the FFB down so you don't get large jolts when hitting the curbs. Good luck

The support bracket is too weak for a dd1 or 2

Pretty much every product I have bought from Fanatec has had some fault or failed completely. Sad, expensive and frustrating.

To be fair, since i changed my rig and USB controlled isn't hasn't missed a beat. Although i would say Fanatec support isn't great. They've got so many iterations of firmware, even they didn't know what release to recommend.

Dude that is so dangerous. Did you send Fanatec this video? I’m on my 2nd DD2. The first one had problems with the fan running at max rpm at startup or just randomly.
I also noticed even with the replacement wheel they sent me....which I’m sure is a refurbished unit...I get strange ffb spikes that can hurt my hands. It just behaves strangely sometimes. My old CSW V2 and T500 never ever did things like that.
    Be careful man.

I've not sent it back yet as i'm still not certain it's a hardware fault. I've installed a dedicated USB controller which has improved the situation and my hypothesis is that the latest failures could be down to my rig excessively flexing under high forces. I think the usb cable connector could be temporarily loosing contact , as it now only tends to happen when i hit something with a lot of force. I have a new sim lab p1x rig on it ways so i'll know soon enough. expensive hobby!

andy whit That’s some crazy sh*t man. I’ve never seen any wheel do something like that.
Did you order the Podium Mount from SimLab?

    • @andywhit7581
      @andywhit7581  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, should be rock solid!

andy whit Nice! It is rock solid. I use it with mg GT1 EVO.
