@@TeacherPaulReacts I want to talk about the explanation of Indonesia's history in the video, it's incomplete, they don't even talk about the difficulties of the Dutch entering Indonesia and then Islam entered the archipelago long before the Europeans, that's why they mean that the Natives have been able to establish a Sultanate... because it's impossible Islam came not long after establishing a great empire and power, it was impossible if it was done in an instant like magic, and of course it had been done for centuries, and the Sultanate of Malacca was one of the strongest Sultanates, he didn't just lose to the Portuguese as they were. in the video, there are several factors that caused the kingdom which was almost as strong as the western kingdoms to lose, one of which was due to unpreparedness and the weakening of Malakka's power at that time due to conflicts with other kingdoms, and Malakka was not ready for the attack. because there are no ships guarding the port of pela Buhan Kota because it is guarding other areas that are in conflict with other kingdoms, and the last thing I want to discuss from the discussion about the kingdom is that the Dutch are not so easy to control the archipelago as Western people observe in history books, because in the archipelago there is a magical belief very high even not a few of those who have supernatural powers such as being able to fly, disappear, move places, multiply themselves, are immune from physical attacks and sharp weapons, super strong blows and even an example of one of the kings in Banten, namely Prabu shoots general who can destroying hills with his magical knowledge, you can find out the supernatural power of the archipelago people in ancient times, they used to perform rituals to make it like that, until now there is still magic like that even though the levels are very different because in ancient times the people of the archipelago very thick with magic and science like that it's different from now where Islam has become the majority in Indonesia and because Islam forbids magic it also causes the loss of the magic knowledge and secondly, in fact the Dutch use cunning methods like foxes, namely they are playing against the big kingdoms in the archipelago because naturally at that time there were many conflicts. due to the collapse of Majapahit which has formed a union and because the archipelago is like a duplicate of Europe, it is natural that there are many conflicts between kingdoms because there are so many kingdoms that stand in the archipelago, far more than you imagine, that is also the reason I say "the archipelago is a duplicate of Europe" so the point is it's not that easy the Dutch and their allies took advantage of the conflicts between kingdoms that occurred at that time...then, out of the topic of the kingdom period, next Indonesia never got independence from Japan like in the video, because Japan did not directly help them voluntarily like the Europeans who came only to dominate and take the proceeds of wealth nothing more... we had pressured Japan to immediately give independence but Japan refused because Japan was in crisis at that time and they still needed Indonesia as a tool to help fight their enemies in order to win the World war 2. And when there was no hope from Japan because of the crisis and the tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Indonesia chose to declare its independence unilaterally by taking the risk of rejection from various parties... of course the Netherlands had risen from the Nazi pressure later hearing the news that Indonesia had become independent of course they were angry and came back to seize it. but after several wars and several negotiations the Dutch still can no longer control Indonesia and can't even set foot here as a power ... then after going through everything

14:54 FYI, from west to east, you can see all kinds of civilizations developing, from the information age in the west (Java, Sumatra, Bali) to the more agricultural and traditional civilizations in the central region (Kalimantan, Sulawesi) and the east ( Maluku, Papua). it's very diverse. (there are more than 800 languages and dialects, slightly different climatic conditions between the western and eastern regions, topographic differences in each island, etc.).

I remember my late grandma, she was born in the 1920s. She was an elementary teacher and I remember she could fluently speak and read her native local language (Minang from West Sumatra), our official language Bahasa Indonesia, English and also Arabic. She can speak Dutch and a little Japanese (though I'm not sure if she could read in them)... She was sweet and she used to talk about her childhood with fondness (despite how rough it sounded). Tough times brought up such a strong generation 🥺, miss her ❤
    Terima kasih videonya 🙏

Maybe that's one of the good things we learned from long years of occupation, we learned to stay stronger together: Unity in our diversity (that's our National Motto, written on our National Emblem: "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika").

Since independence, the Indonesian nation and state have committed to opposing all forms of war, occupation and colonialism... therefore, today, despite its status as a former colony of the Netherlands and Japan, we consider both countries not only friends but also like distant relatives. In fact, Indonesia is currently opening up opportunities for Dutch people who have Indonesian ancestry and have lived in Indonesia during the World War II colonial era to become naturalized Indonesian citizens if they are willing. This can be seen in the Indonesian national football team, which is filled with quite a lot of players who were previously Dutch citizens and changed their Indonesian citizenship and can join the national team.

There was once an attempt to form the Maphilindo state, a union of three countries: Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia (at that time, Singapore and Brunei were still part of Malaysia, and East Timor was still part of Indonesia). This initiative was called the Manila Accord and aimed to establish a federation of 'Nusantara' nations. However, it did not come to fruition due to the betrayal by some high-ranking officials from Malaysia who were under British control. They violated the Manila Accord by proclaiming the Federation of Malaysia without informing the Indonesian and Philippine parties.

Our people from our anchestor to today indonesians respect Thomas Raffles even his wife who passed away coz malaria graved in south jakarta.

Hmmm saying 341.5 years of dutch occupation in Indonesia is a bit misleading, dutch only occupied some region of indonesia for 3.5 centuries, most of indonesia only fell in the 19th and the beggining of 20th century...... The school propaganda about centuries of dutch occupation is wrong

Portuguese invaded (colonized?) Indonesia for like 100 years, while Spanish was only for a short period of time, both of them then kicked out from Indonesian archipelago after Dutch came and claimed the whole archipelago through wars (Spanish went back to Philippines, while Portuguese ran to East Timor their only colony in Asia), Dutch was in Indonesia for 300 years, if you add Portuguese & Dutch colonizations then it's 400+ years of colonization in Indonesia, while British existed in Indonesia during the period of Portuguese-Spanish and Dutch, they have tried multiple times to take back Indonesia from Dutch but was never succeded hence they stayed in Malay peninsula, and then the last one was Japanese Empire, they were in Indonesia for only 3 years before then US dropped a bomb that ended WWII

Great Britain in Indonesia is like Netherlands in Malaysia. They came around, see around, not do too much, and left behind quite a feeling of affection from the local because of how 'less evil' they are.
10:00 so this is half-true and half-wrong. Japan asked Indonesia to WAIT, Sukarno opted to wait, up until the youths of Indonesia demanded him to declare independence as soon as possible right after Hiroshima and Nagasaki's bombing. The youths even had to abduct Sukarno and brought him away to release him from the japanese's influence and only then Sukarno surrendered and followed the youths' desire. I've observed that the West seemed to misunderstand this as Japan trying to cut off the western's influence and slyly gave independence to Indonesia to upset the Dutch. While that WAS the plan, they didn't expect Indonesia to do it by themselves, essentially at that time, the japanese invaders felt that Indonesians are betrayers, same goes with Netherlands treating Indonesia as traitors for declaring independence and actually fighting back when they returned. Indonesia essentially 'backstabbed' the two of them
