That would be hilarious if you think about it. The only time that thing is powered and not stuffed in the bottom of a toolbag is while your trying to figure out an electrical issue. Only thing thats pickin up is an impressively long and increasingly colorful string of profanities. 🤣
Plenty of companies SAY that, but voiding a warranty just because a product was opened is actually not lawful in the USA. The company that provides the warranty has to prove that the device was damaged or modified in a way that caused it to fail. A broken sticker that says "warranty void if seal is broken" is not enough by itself. The legislation in question is The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
My concern with banning tiktok is not free speech, but the federal government asserting the power that they can ban Internet websites "just because." Sets a bad precedent.
When it shuts off when you short it out, check to see if it's still passing current. I tested a few cheap ones, and even with the screen blank, it was still pulling ten amps.
Hahaha! Actually laughed out loud about the QC sticker, as the electronic parts I am forced to install. About 50% are bad out of box but the QC label is always there 😅
2:25.. actually the warehouse that picks the orders places the correct seller's (Sinstar) label sticker on it and ships it..MANY sellers use the same packaging from the original manufacturer
I bought this same one from TikTok. I work on forklifts as well and had been contemplating purchasing a Power Probe but wasn't sure if I would utilize it enough to justify the expensive one. It isn't great but not terrible. After using it and finding uses I will probably buy the legit one.
It's honestly not nearly as bad as I expected, especially for $7. I'm certainly not going to be buying one, but I was expecting much much worse. The fact it actually has any overload protection is truly mind blowing to me. The Power Probes circuit breaker isn't great quality. I've had to replace a few of them when the breaker failed. Not sure how good the knockoffs overload protection is but it might actually be an improvement over the PPs low quality breaker.
@@FunkFPV heh, all I'll say is, "There's an app?". Just from other antisocial media postings on their content kept me safely outside of effective range.
Been looking into a power probe IV to compliment my test light and meter. I used to have an older one that was my dads, but it has unfortunately ran off over the years. If you happen to get one I'd love to see a comparison to your old power probe and see if other than your old one being broken if it would be worth it to upgrade to the new one. Great video as always. Keep up the good work.
I've got this power probe as well but I never use it. However, I use the cable on it hooked to the battery as a "portable" guaranteed power and ground since they use standard banana jacks that are compatible with anything.
Don't trust it for high impedance circuits. I had one but it feeds so much current through the circuit that it will mislead you on low voltage, low current sensors, etc.
Aneng has been making reasonably OK stuff for quite a while. They'll never ever be Fluke, 😂, but at least they are usually a few steps above the usual 💩

If our intrepid host is found soon to have choked to death after consuming a chopstick, we know what the CCP thinks of his free speech comment in front of their self-resetting fuse-capacitor and non-working speaker. I'll just get my coat... Seriously though, I was surprised on the lamp test. I was sure that it'd give a visual indication of current flow via smoke emitting diode displays, ala Chinese New Year celebrations.
Your argument about returning the tiktok purchase doesn't really make sense since it only costs $7 in the first place. If you paid $7 for it and it didn't work would you really be trying to return it?
That broken speaker on the Chinesium probe is probably a Microphone they are listening LOL 😂
Haha 😜

Exactly right.
Chinese spyware isn’t “just because”. Secondly, its the App that is the issue. Not a website
From what I’ve heard it was actually a pretty clean bill and specific.
Ah, but we're really only banning a small opening in the Great Firewall of China.
I'll need my hat before I leave...
What you pegged as a capacitor definitely looks like a self resetting fuse to me. Have a great New Year.

I bought one of these a few months ago from AliExpress. Haven't used it yet, but I was still holding my breath watching this!
I really want to hear that 5 minute Rant!!!😆Yep, it passed through the persons hands that puts the "QC Passed" sticker on it😉

😎👍🏻 Where were you when I was recording this? I could have convinced all these people I’m smart 😜
@@FunkFPV why bother? All you really need to convince is the equipment you're repairing. ;)
should have desoldered the 3 button pins so you could see the other side :P

I absolutely loved your Chinese rants. Way to go.

QC passed, from the right hand to the left.
That's better than the last Chinesium device I got, passed from mouth through rectum for QC passage.
Thankfully, I've no sense of smell.
The Autel Power Scan is a decent tool for a fraction of the price. I have all the power probe accessories, and they also work with it.
