Your woodland area is so beautifully designed. You have done such a great job with choosing the best plants for it. I live in the woods so I’m in mostly shade. I’m tying to add more plants to get this same effect in it. I definitely do not have enough sun to have traditional flowers but I want something that blooms and looks woodsy. I tuck little fairy items in and around the area. Do you have a list of the plants you used in your area? I would like to have an idea on what to buy for mine. Such a great video and so informative. Thank you for sharing 🪴
Love the Woodland Gardens. Your video was very helpful since most of my gardens are woodland and sometimes it can be a challenge finding ones that flower. I can plant more sun loving plants on the edges❤ Thank you
If you have the space as I do it makes a beautiful woodland area. So far mine has stayed in my area for many years. But you definitely need to monitor it. It chocked out a few of my other woodland plants.
I really needed this video! My front yard is tricky. Predominately east facing with a huge tree, so is mostly shade but does have pockets that get intense afternoon sun (California). This has given me some ideas of what I can plant!
I love hearing you speak. And I was so vusualizing you with American style gardening in Germany and I was so intrigued and then you said lowes. Hahaha I thought, oh she is in the US. ...all good though
We have had great luck creating a groundcover of tiarella in our shadier spaces... There are clumping varieties like Elizabeth Oliver that are really well behaved and being available in 72 count plug trays make the project a lot more affordable...
Emma, are you in England? Here in Connecticut, US we have hard time finding plug trays, which is such a pity. It is a great way to save money and time.
New sub to this channel , but oh my gosh have I loved watching your videos . They are so enchanting and formative . I am making a woodland garden also in the UK. Look forward to seeing your woodland corner grow 😊 also will you put bark down or you mulch with leaf mould?
Welcome Kylie! It is good to have you here! I am planning to run that area as it should be in the wild: leaves fall and stay on the ground. I will be keeping the path clean, but the rest will decompose on its own time. Happy gardening and good luck creating your own woodland area!
Lovely and serene. I've been working on my own woodland shady area but it is a wet area so have been using mosses, ferns, itea, winterberry, astillbe and hostas. My beautiful hostas get eaten by deer so am looking for an alternative.
That sounds like a total nightmare! My ivy is under strict supervision, I know its opportunistic nature! Happy gardening, I hope you have many exciting plans for your new, ivy free area.
Your woodland area looks fantastic. Your enthusiasm for plants and gardening is infectious!
I have to say this is one of the loveliest spots I have seen on TH-cam, and I watch a lot of gardening sites. Beautiful! Margaret M.
Awww, how wonderful! Thank you, Margaret!
What a beautiful woodland corner you have created!! Your plants look so good, my peony is about to open too, I am so excited, love smell of peonies!
Thank you, yes, peonies bloom for a short time but their blooms are powerful!
Love a woodland garden !!!

Happy Mother's Day
Thank you!
Love foam flower! So delicate and fairy like 🧚♀️
Yes, and when it will become stronger, those light blooms will be happening all summer.
Great stuff in fact.
Oh I created my own woodland garden a few weeks ago. You gave me some lovely additional ideas!! 💕
Thank you! Yes, we always learn together. Happy gardening!
I'm looking forward to trying this year.
So pretty ! ❤

Thank you Kristine, I am glad this video was helpful! I had fun reorganizing that area. And it is always in a changing process, as you know!
That’s very beautiful!
lovely! perhaps a little bench in front of those yews till they grow up
Thank you, although it is quite a narrow space there. Happy gardening!
Your voice is so very soothing 😊
English ivy is SO invasive.
But excellent for late season insects & butterflys. Wrens nest in ivy.

Thank you, Susan. My woodland area is on a dry side, and needs me to keep it going. Have a lovely day!
Try Brunnera as an alternative to hosta.
Try oceanspray shrub for woodland look
Thank you!
Be super careful with Ivy esp around trees 🌲 ,! We just took out 2 acres of vines the size of a tree trunk 😳
