I just noticed a quick tip for people having trouble doing the pump strum mute on the Em7 chord could simply
---- bend the "C" and "A" string respectively
just enough to mute the other two strings right after the strums, right after the strum.

It was so worth it! For months I've been looking forward to play this song and took the everyday practice to learn how mute and the quite difficult transition from each chord. Still, I can never perfect it so instead I took my own twist in strumming and now I can finally be able to decently play this song! Thank you so much, Cynthia!

Thanks for your tutorial. I learn a lot. But for me as a beginner, the mute action is hard since my left hand does not follow my brain very well and the movement of the whole hand is considered "big". Sometimes I hit the strings too hard and make noise instead of mute them. So I decided to mute the strings in my way. em7: strum, release, slide the two fingers to the two strings still vibrating, move back to em7 and repeat the process. Gmaj7: strum, release, slide the fingers to the string still vibrating, move back to Gmaj7 and repeat the process. E7: strum, release, slide the ring finger to the string still vibrating, move back to E7 and repeat the process. I believe the effect is quite similar. Hope it will be helpful for beginners. :)
