  • Stevie Wonder’s song “Superstition” has one of the best grooves ever recorded, and today I’m going to show you that it’s SO good, Stevie is the universal groove donor. You can put this drum groove on ANYTHING and instantly make it better. And when I say anything, I mean ANYTHING.

Great Vid! Sly Stone was also using the harspichord on his 71 album There's a Riot Goin on, which I think added a lot to it's completely distinct sound. I bet you could make a good video on its use of the drum machine and combination with live rhythms and sampling.

He played the drums on this? Wow im convinced stevie can see. I met him once at a restaurant in Cleveland. I asked him if we could take a picture together and he said of course. He then asked me if we were standing in front of a bar . I was like uhh yeah. So he then said "lets move so the bar isnt in the background. I was blown away...

Yes! Stevie's music is a balm for the soul. One of my "break glass in case of No Good Very Bad Terrible Day" albums is Signed, Sealed, Delivered. 😊 Do you think you might ever do a video along the lines of "one chord to explain The Roots" about some of the harmonies and theory in his work? There have been so many phases to his career but a constant throughline has been songs in the key of... joy? Would love to hear your take on it, if you were ever inclined.

To be honest if you punched up Bach's Prelude in E flat minor you probably have a hell of a cool song there. The main issue with the mix you did is the harpsichord is just a little to diminished a tonal quality. Transpose the midi onto another onto a synth with a wider sound and I think there is something solid there.
