Effortless. He obviously remembers all the emotions he had when they created this masterpiece... please come back. There are so many of us who still remember and will wait to be healed... xx
Saw him play live in NYC in some tiny venue back in like..ehhhh...2001....played this one and many others - the level of talent is insane and so underrated.
Spectacular! Saw CW twice in Providence RI. the most relevant band to come out of the nineties. The voice of a generation. The Thunderclap Newman of the nineties...j
this takes me back to the bed in early summer. the nights were so sticky heavy but this song speaks to that early morning time when a chill set in and you'd pull the sheet over your body whilst your body feels the pull of the one next to you.
I would immerse myself in their CDs back in the day. Just me and the music. ...I can't help but wax nostaligic for those days and Rob's music that came with it.
I saw him last night in Toronto, and I'd pay anything to see him again tonight. A fantastic performer! Tore up the audience as they sat there trying to find their dropped jaws, mine included. My fave CW tune too, on the earphones is the only way for me to go, with this, and all CW.
5:44/45 O_O That voice!!! I loved every second of this recording..... Brilliant guy. Very gifted! ^_^ (Oh poor, underrated Catherine Wheel...... *cries* )
Rob is fantastic! Met him in San Francisco this summer, seemed so humble and burnt! That ruled! Loved Catherine Wheel as well, great audio on this one!
Amazing really really amazing. Just his voice and strings. No auto tune or electronic assist. This is a tad difficult song range to hit on the mark, as he did. Good Show Sir!
I just saw Rob this past weekend; the acoustic show was incredible. He opened with this song, and played it just like this. Thanks for encoding/uploading!
BRILLIANT & BAD-ASS. The saddest thing in the world (besides all the suffering and wars and what not), is that all kinds of sucky bands break-out huge and sell all kinds of records and the mighty Catherine Whell/Rob D. languish in relative obscurity. I've seen these guys in LA and SD like half a dozen times, and they/he are THE COOLEST!!!!!!!!
I love Rob and miss The Catherine Wheel but his music lives on. I actually prefer the raw acoustic versions of his songs. This one has been in my favs since I found it a while back.
This is just ridiculously good. Also saw that '98 show at 9:30, and a '94(?) show at the old 9:30. I never expected they'd be as good as they were live. Rob is one of the best performers I've seen, right up there with Bob Mould.
I still love Mad Dog, a track that one of the more idiotic of the American music magazines singled out for a special critical mauling. I find similarities in its mood with Bowie's Fall Dog Bombs The Moon - another of my favourites.
This was before his Casbah show when he opened for someone I can't remember, and the line out in front was all for him. And so was I, right up front the stage. I even got a peck on the cheek after :) Glorious. His is music you hear and feel.
Dancingmind, I know exactly what you are talking about, End of the World, that was the most memorable moment at a concert I have had. Not only my own feelings during the song, but when it ended that every other person there loved it too, and cheered for it...WOW WOW WOW. I have posted comments on Rob's "myspace" asking that very question about it's release.

People don't write beautiful songs like this anymore. CW breaking up was a huge blow to the music world
This version gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. I can find no musical equivalent to CW or Rob.
