      Hahaha... I couldn't resist it... The setting was just too perfect for it!

    But that view… looks like such a majestic, adventurous trail, and so worth the climb. I especially like the tech along the ridge. Tricky line choices, sharp daggers indeed… well done you guys! I do like rocky tech. Nice to see you guys in action, handling the climb, the tech, so well. Your laugh after some of the toughest sections is great. Awesome video, Phil!

    • @TrailTales
      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha... My laugh... It is deffo NOT musical! Hahaha
      And yeah Phoenix.. It was a tough one all round, but we took it very chill on both the climb and the descent... We had the whole day for it so we didn't need to rush. Made it MUCH more enjoyable... And these natural tech trails are tricky to ride blind... Sometimes you're just caught being pon the wrong line to clear the next section... And it's a foot. But well worth the ride... Obne of my favs for the year!

      @trailphoenixMTB ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TrailTales Oh, I was referencing your laugh in a good way… seemed like you were clearing some pretty gnarly sections (extra challenging riding it for the first time) and enjoying a wild ride. :D Looks like a favorite, for sure.

    What an amazing day that had to be. Yet another epic ride. Impressed on how you guys managed the tech features at the top, especially going blind. Well done.

      Yeah Mike... It's a banger of a ride this... Really one of my favs for the year... It just had everything an MTB ride should have... Tough. Adventurous. A banger trail down... Views... Difficult to beat something like that!

    Wow, I am always amazed by the landscapes and photos you have taken in the Vinschgau Valley. Great video Phil, the strenuous climb was worth it, very cool trails and awesome riding. Thanks for sharing and have a great evening mate. Ride on🤙

      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure Christoph... It is a very beautiful valley... And the trails are really good... With a lotta tech as well...
      This was one of my fav rides of the year... The whole thing was such a good laugh!

  • @JayRidesTrails
    @JayRidesTrails ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ohh, it stops right at the end of the actual schartlkamm trail! More vids to come then eh... 😁
    Btw the bit where "Jay was up there, now he's down here" was hilarious 😂

    • @TrailTales
      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha... Yeah... These trails are all so good I didn't want to chop them all into oblivion (and I wanted to get a good representation of the climb on this one as well)... And a 25-odd min vid would be too much... So I needed to break this drop up into trails... There is "still" about another minute or so of Schartlkamm after the end here. But you provided me with such a good end point when you jumped off the bike to bask in what we'd just ridden... :D

  • @TrailSage
    @TrailSage ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Holy crap that climb is no joke but 100% worth it... what an epic adventure! Great riding by you and @JayRidesTrails. This is def a bucket list ride for me. All the tech and views are exactly why I ride. Great edit Phil, will there be a part two? How you only have 444 subs is beyond me. Come on folks, sub to this man!!!

    • @TrailTales
      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There will be Sage... But from (about) this point down the trail changes into two different trails... So I though it'd be a good place to split it.
      Both Jay and I are keen to head back that way in the future... There are still a few bits that we didn't get to ride, and we both would like another go at a few of the ones we've already done. And if you don't mind pedalling... This is a really great valley for some riding. You'd LOVE the tech they have there. It's just one banger after another! We can always drop you a note to see if you have some time... #NoPreassure... Hahaha :D

    • @TrailTales
      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah man... Was a great ride! And this was only just over a third of the trail down... Near on the whole ov Schartlkamm, But there were two others - including Holy Hansen - below this... For something in the region of 1900m descent! So well worth the suffering going up... :D

  • @mickfromrocky
    @mickfromrocky ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Phil this was such a beautiful video . These views are simply stunning and that climb while physically and mentally exhausting it was will worth it.
    The descent was a pure workout but you guys killed it .
    I loved the views, the riding and the typical Trailtales commentary .
    Thanks for sharing

    • @TrailTales
      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Mick! It is a great valley to ride in. Not as popular as a lot of other spots because you have to do a goodly amount of pedalling up to the trails, which is a little less popular these days... But you'll be hard pressed to find better views and more jank trails in one small area!
      And thanx for watching mate... Really appreciate it!

      Hahaha... Ja... We both had to take packs on thisone to make sure we had enough food and gear... Don't really want to be caught on the tp of a Alp when the weather turns if you don't have a couple extra layers with... And sammiches! Deffo Sammiches!! :D

    An electric bike up would have been epic 😉 and you could have ridden it. Looked like a challenging ride. Nice video

    • @TrailTales
      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว

      An e-bike would not have neen epic... It would have just been an extra 10 kilo I'd have to have carried up... There was much of that climb that was just unridable regardless of bike. :D

  • @gobikeyourself
    @gobikeyourself ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Oh Boy Phil, that trail is absolutely fabtastic! I had it on my bucket list for two years now and haven't had the chance to ride it yet. This video has made it all but certain that will ride this trail next year 😉 Pretty gnarly techy stuff in the lower part! Did you move over to the Holy Hansen after the Schartlkamm or did you ride down the Holzbrugg Trail?

    • @TrailTales
      @TrailTales  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did the Holybrugg for that small section that "takes you over" to the Holy Hansen... Then did the Holy Hansen down... Hansen was on of the trails we deffo wanted to tag into on the trip, that this combo worked out perfect...
      You'd like the Schartlkamm mate... It's a real good trail! But take some company... It's a long day on the bike... :D
