How many microphones at different places are we listening to at the same time? Or is it at mic in/at the camera that was the primary source? Very echoey at the start, like 2 copies of a sound with a short time delay between them.

Nice video, the Kabifix cable stripper in my view would be difficult to surpass in this field and is definitely worth a review to bring to the attention of sparks out there. A great labour saver and it should go without saying these tools if not used correctly can ruin a cable so a test should be carried out on a scrap section first to establish the correct blade depth.

  • @chronokoks

Got Jokari, Cimco (which is Jokari) got Weicon. And Weicon is better. Doesn't tend to spiral around the cable due to the different and smarter shape of the plastic in contact with cable and the slightly more wider knife actually cuts rubber isolations better and overall cutting action feels smoother and faster. Only downside it doesn't come with an extra blade like Jokari(and Cimco) and the plastic housing is slightly less tactile friendly (which isn't a real factor at all.. just an observation)

I was using a cable stripper issued by a company that I contracted to and then worked directly for in the late 70's.
It was a USA company and the tool was blue, I suspect it was manufacured by Ideal.
For sure that tool concept is not that new if I was using one that worked in axactly the same fashion, the centre blade is cranked and loosely rotates and follows the direction you pull the tool. I was supplied to strip a cable specific to the company, tough outer sheath and four insulated inner cores, two of one diamete and two of another diameter and a sod to strip without the correct tool.
Cable was known as 'Trunk' cable and was for a multiplexed alarm system, first I ever saw, two cores for power and tw for data, the cable powered remote devices called 'pids' and form those were powered the devices such as pir's, contacts etc.
I suspect the cable was manufactured by Belden as the device cable was.
Why do Weicon tools always seem to mirror Knipex, Ideal, Klauke and others ? is there a connection ?
Mind you, the Quickwire (Berkshire) flat cable stripper looks identical in every way to the Knipex KPX1264180 reviewed recently, price difference .....around £15 to £24 depending on where you buy the Knipex tool, less if you buy the Jokari version that looks identical, granted the panel covering the hinges have different coloured/ brand logos.
I used to be a tool snob, for sure but now, if I see a tool that is the same for a third of the price of the Giants, example above, I will but it.
Of course, I still but my favoured brands such as Knipex, Bahco, Wera, Wiha ,some CK, and lately, some NWS and Felo, some I hear are part of thge same group.
As an apprentice..it was Elliot Lucas for pliers, 'snips',Footprints and King Dick for spanners...days long gone.

A reasonably priced stripper you say? Stop making it all sound so new and fascinating.
I've owned one for over 35 years and they were known as "Jokari knives" (Jokari being the manufacturer).

    • @fitmydashcam
      @fitmydashcam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Even better, it’s £12. And has a built in knife with a hooked end.
I have this exact one and it’s perfect. Replaceable blades and it’s got a flat edge where the blade is, so it’s easier to keep the cable level whilst setting the blade height. :)

Bought the Jokari version years ago. Never use it. Can cut the inner cores if you set the blade too deep and doesn't remove the sheath if set too shallow. Less to think about manually adjusting the depth of a stanley knife. Bought the armour slice too and never use it. Still use a junior hacksaw. Maybe I'm mugging myself

I bought one from Amazon based on this video... wish I noticed the paid promotion bit beforehand cos its garbage.
Cheap plastic, far too high spring tension, blade adjustment is imprecise at best.
When you spin around the cable it's difficult to ensure its perfectly perpendicular hence it often cuts a spiral rather than one circular cut.
Worth less than £5 in terms of quality. There must be better solutions than this.
Amazon will be getting this one back.
    Don't buy!

This type of cable knifes is around here for decades, originally invented by Jokari. They also have exchangable brackets, for different sizes of cables. My favourite is this one:
    th-cam.com/video/hgfNKzcQBaE/w-d-xo.html
Got two stripping blades, one should also be usable for flat cables.
The difference between NYY and Tuf Sheath is, NYY is a normalised cable type. No matter which company manufactures it, it should always be the same thing and meet the requirements of this normalised cable type. Tuf Sheath is a product of one single manufacturer, and only available from them.
The name is pronounced "Whycon" 😉
