I think Stewie has the best position in the whole show when you think about it, he gets to make bank from the family and gets inside info from Kendall without having to be a part of their horrible family lol. Def my favorite side character, wish he was included more! He is so sly but still charismatic. I think the vultures hovering around the Roy family are the true winners of this whole series.
I grew up in the same town as the co-creator of Spotify here in Sweden, which is also funny enough right outside where Mattson is from in the show (Gothenburg). There are so many young founder guys like him who made millions if not billions from games/apps who then move to the US and slowly become more unhinged with money/fame. I'm a freelance artist within the game industry and every other month I hear about some new guy here who becomes millionaire overnight from their app being sold in china/US or their game going viral on steam. (Helldivers 2 most recently) I think it's probably quite overwhelming and hard to deal with going from 0-100 like that. Alexander really nails the character imo, they speak and act exactly like him. They're quite nerdy and edgy but hang out with non nerdy people as much as they can to prove they're cool (notch/Musk-ish but young and cares about fashion). Personally I think it's really awesome to see a Swedish character in tv show where the character isn't simply comic relief with a funny accent, they just happen to be from Sweden.. Plus they clearly let him be as genuinely Swedish as he can be cuz he nails it and as much of a weirdo he seems to be in the show I'm loving it. We are quite Americanized but still very sarcastic and overall hard to read, we don't show emotion much and think Americans are almost overly nice, when I was in the US the first time I was stunlocked when the cashier asked how my day was and called me Sir. AND we don't speak like the chef from muppets. (that's Norwegians 😉)

If you haven't noticed by now, there's a lot of symbolism with Kendall and water. The death he accidentally caused took place in water. In S2 opening Kendall was resting in a bath of water. When Kendall returned to the boy's house in S2, the uncle offered him water, which he accepted. When Kendall turned against Logan in the S2 finale, Karolina said, "There's water by the side if you need it". A lot of the company's crimes were committed on the water by the cruise operations. Etc.
@@universalpower419 The blemishes or sordidness of the Roy family. I think the symbolism may have started in Season 1 episode 6 where Shiv says that Logan doesn't trust water. Logan's excuse is that water is too "wishy washy" but in reality, it's because getting in the water would reveal the scars on his back ergo his unsightly past. So in a way the show has since used water to signify darkness or unsightliness of any sort in the Roy family. Beginning with Logan and the cruises and continuing to Kendall and the waiter. That's my interpretation at least.
Caroline Collingwood is one of the worst TV mothers. With the many sins of the father and their mother's lack of love and caring, there was no chance the Roy kids would have grown up with a stable mentality. The kids are nothing more than just accessories and jewelry for her.
*Sorry for the long text but just had to share this as I grew up with a narcissistic grandma very similar to Caroline but it actually had a happy ending:* My mom's mom is quite similar to her not just appearance-wise (it's uncanny) but mentally too. She was a nurse who got pregnant at 18 by my older grandpa who was a "big" ceo of a chicken company. They then got divorced a few years in and my mom grew up with mostly her dad and his future children in the south of my country while my grandma lived with another husband and his kids in the north. (She was also in a motorcycle crash at 19 and got a skull fracture maybe that played a part) She always had this attitude of being a victim and tried to guilt trip my mom her entire childhood by saying she doesn't appreciate all she has done, and long after I was born she would keep complaining that she doesn't spend as much time with her (while she was there...) but at the same time she would say the most horrible things to her and me like they were nothing. Eventually I cut her out of my life when I was 18 or so because I was in a dark place and she just kept criticizing everything about me nonstop. (being underweight, having a deadbeat dad, being a bad son, implying I'm dumb etc. My mom kept seeing her though and respected my choice, but she would try to manipulate her by making it seem like I am a horrible person who hold grudges over nothing. BUT then during COVID she actually went to a doctor and got help, she was suffering from depression and some other things too, and ever since then she's like a different person. At first I thought she was faking it but now I spend time with her every month and she's actually kind and seem happy for the first time in a long time! Also my grandpa is still kicking at like 88 with his wife and they spend Christmas together with my grandma (lots of arguments but they still do it lol)

They have no clue what's going on half the time, so not a surprise. They never shut up during important dialogue and it has an obvious effect. It's night and day watching Blind Wave's reactions by comparison. They actually pay attention and aren't constantly confused. Weird how that works.
