Ahhh~ It's so historically accurate. I love it! I was really happy when I was able to actually recognize specific historical events. This video is great!!
I didn't see any posts for what was at 4:49 so I googled it. Turns out, August 19, 1989, hundreds of East Germans, more or less unobstructed, slipped into the West through a rickety wooden gate near Sopron. It also marked the beginning of the end of East Germany. (finally gets why Gilbird is riding in a German flag car and why there were balloons after.)
Crap, my computer bluescreens first. Then when it loads, all I can hear is the audio. I'm sitting here, reading the comments to get my daily dose of history, but I can't see the video!!!! Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap. Oh well, gotta love the music :L
@DeutziaScabra In 3:56, the girl is Hungary. 6/26/1941 was the date when she declared war on the Soviet Union. 9/19/1944 is the date Finland signed an armistice with the Soviet Union. Not sure about the connection between the two. 2:24 stands for the Entente intervention (Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War) launched in 1918.
