- Summerween is 7th - 13th July, but I am extending this awesome little horror binge into the whole of July to inject more spooks into my Summer TBR!
The Summerween 2023 prompts are:
1. Read a book in the dark 02:00
2. Read a thriller 04:37
3. Read a book that takes place in the Fall 08:53
4. Read a book with orange or black on the cover 12:45
5. Read a manga graphic novel or a novella 15:06

I love that you always describe the plots/themes of books in your own words rather than reading off the cover! This is probably a minority view, but I don’t enjoy reading as a trigger even though I love books. But I love hearing people talk about their own experiences with books, so your channel is perfect! Great theme! I’ll watch for some of these. Over the July 4th holiday I read a short 1983 novel called Mrs Caliban by Rachel Ingalls. It’s a fantasy horror about an escaped frog-like creature and a lonely housewife. Very weird book but I enjoyed it.

Tapping sounds were lovely! I added a few books to my TBR from your list. I’ve only read What Moves the Dead from the ones you mentioned, Kingfisher is a favorite of mine.

@@SilverfishASMRI enjoyed Nettle and Bone the most of the other ones I’ve read. The Twisted Ones was pretty interesting as well. I wasn’t as big of a fan of Paladin’s Grace but I think that’s because I am not much of a romance reader. I like the way she integrates creepy little details into her worldbuilding across all her works. Thanks for the video!

what... how have I never heard this term before? I've heard of Notumn but... Summerween is making me feel so much joy nowww 😁 well I guess it's always Summerween for me bc I definitely read Stephen King in the middle of summer 🤣
Haha I can relate!! It's the first year I've done Summerween. I would definitely read horror all year round but not necessarily autumny books. It's a cool idea though, and fun to be a part of :)

I came back from a 3-days festival today, a turbulent flight and tired as f. This video was perfect to come back home to!! Soooo relaxing. I love the theme too. And fall is also my favorite!
I pre- ordered The only one left a while ago and is waiting too, it sounds cool :D
(btw, I finished Last time I lied (more like a classic thriller, I felt) and The house across the lake (I think the twist was funny!!) and gave them both 4 stars. Now gonna read your favorite Home before dark, saved it for last 😍Going to put the other books in this video to my TBR.
