I’ve watched a few beginner videos now, and 11 yrs later, this is still the most helpful video I’ve seen. It’s well thoroughly explained with visuals and text, well done.
Very good explanation of the game, is right to the point and interactive. The only thing is that the volume is too low on your video, otherwise greta job!
@chrisknieriem In short, yes, but only for drive serves. You are only allowed to do a drive serve between you and wall closest to you if you, the ball, and your racquet stay outside of the boxes defined by those outermost lines in the service box. They are ignored for z-serves and lob serves.
In my opinion, this was a better and more informative video than when all the others i've seen. Especially better than the ExpertVillage videos. Good Job!
can't find answer: first serve is a short serve, second serve good, however during play a hinder is called. we agreed to do-over, does the first short serve still count so that another fault serve would be side out??
Can you hit the side walls to a front wall and keep the ball in play or does that become a dead ball? like during a rally i hit the ball on left wall then hit front wall then my opponent returns it and i miss it. whos point?
can the serve hit the front wall 1st but then hit side wall? My playing partner hits an almost unreturnable serve because it hits corner and kind of slides against wall. you almost have to hit wall with raquet to return, seems illegal
You're allowed to hit 1 side before the ball touches the ground as long as you hit the front wall first. If the ball is literally hitting the corner and contacting both front and side wall at the same time, that is not legal since it did not hit the front wall first. Also be aware that your opponent can not swing the racquet through the screen line near the side wall if that's what they're doing to get it close to the other. Otherwise, the shot you're describing sounds like a "down the line" shot, perfectly legal. Typically you will want to respond by waiting for the ball to bounce off the back wall to give yourself more time to follow it, but if the ball is touching the wall on the down the line I would expect it to pop off the wall due to spin. There is also a legal serve where the ball crosses the service box but hits the edge of the floor and side wall and rolls out there, which is the only unretreivable shot, but it's very rare to see. If your friend is rolling out serves consistently, then tell them to start earning some tournament cash. :p
+Ronald Roman Yes, it has to touch the front wall before the ground in order for play to continue. If it's your turn to hit the ball, then you have to hit the ball before it touches the floor twice. After you hit the ball it has to touch the front wall before touching the floor (walls and ceiling don't matter). If the ball touches the floor twice before you hit it, or if you hit it into the floor before the front wall, then you lose the point. If the other player contacts the ball during your turn then you replay the rally with no points awarded. If your opponent is standing in the way of a straight shot that takes a perpendicular path to the front wall, then technically that is supposed to be your point, although casual players will often replay these shots. If your opponent is intentionally hitting the ball before it reaches the front wall, then you would immediately gain a point and start a new rally.
@nevermore9197 On a serve, that would be a "short fault" because the ball bounced at least once before passing the entire service box. During play, that's just a really good hit. :)
Did a really good job actually, at first I was like quit staring at the camera, but then realized, it's your shit, you can do what you want lol and was that a drone? Pretty cool..

I am new to racquetball and am searching for a video to show me the basics. Your video was very helpful. Thanks SO much!
Great video. The only one I found that properly explains the rules. Now I understand.
Thank you - this is the best how to play racquetball video on the web

Great video, done in great detail to suit a beginner. Thanks..

most helpful video I've found on racquet ball :
well done. Just the right amount of information to get me on the court.
seems like good content but the volume is very low.
@Kalazore Gotcha, so then, can you play in front of the service box?
In the middle of the rally can the ball hit all three walls or is the rally over
In my opinion, this was a better and more informative video than when all the others i've seen. Especially better than the ExpertVillage videos. Good Job!

Good video! I'm wanting to learn to play racquetball but don't have anyone to play with. Any suggestions on how to play single player?
pdavis2272 I have been posting a sign outside my room's door: "Anyone looking for a racquetball partner ??? ... knock ! "
Awesome video. Very helpful, audio a little weak
isnt there a fault for serving on the inside of the boxs on the left and right sides of the service box?
Can you hit the side walls to a front wall and keep the ball in play or does that become a dead ball?
like during a rally i hit the ball on left wall then hit front wall then my opponent returns it and i miss it. whos point?
During a rally can u hit a side wall first before hitting the front wall?
Yes, absolutely you can. Look up "pinch" and "splat" shots for details.
You can even snack it into the back wall as long as it hits the front wall before bouncing.
Nice tutorial!
So its rally scoring where you can only score on your own serve?
+Nate Simon Yes
Awsome video it explained everything very clearly
Thanks. My 9-year-old loves it.
Very exquisitely done!
Very nice. Thanks. 🌺
do you serve again after receiving a point??
Yes

+Cameron Boykin so after the serve and you just start hitting it does it need to touch the front wall at all during the back to back playing ?
+Ronald Roman Yes, it has to touch the front wall before the ground in order for play to continue. If it's your turn to hit the ball, then you have to hit the ball before it touches the floor twice. Very educational thank you!

Excellent job on this video, thanks!
Great job! That really helped!
What happens if the ball bounces twice in front of the front line?
pretty good teaching video! thanks!
What if on a return, you hit the front wall, then it goes all the way back to the back wall without hitting the floor?
I know I'm a couple years late, but I'm fairly sure this is a legal return
zimboboys :: question : if ball hits front wall then all the way to back wall and first bounce before touching front wall again can i still hit it ?
@@roshanpimple17 yes
Did a really good job actually, at first I was like quit staring at the camera, but then realized, it's your shit, you can do what you want lol and was that a drone? Pretty cool..
This is a really good video, but the sound level is way too low. I turn the volume all the way up, and still have trouble hearing what's being said.
Cheers on the 'how to'
good video!
I can't hear a thing:(
I didn't know screening on a serve was a fault. I used to do this all the time lol
