Dmitry's observation about the increased competition in the roofing business resonated with me. As more players enter the market, companies are forced to differentiate themselves and find innovative ways to attract customers. Overall, I appreciate Dmitry's video for shedding light on the challenges faced by the roofing business. It's important to address these issues and find sustainable solutions to ensure the industry's growth and success. On that note, I would love to have the conversation and chat further about the roofing business and its current struggles within the UK business too.
Absolutely agree with all of these points. I've been in roof and construction since 2002 in the sate of Florida and I passed my state exams last month for roofing. I would also definitely recommend working for a larger company, I would also add to that and recommend not to work for a storm chaser. Work for a company that understands that you need a healthy balance of roofing repairs (residential & commercial) and of course re-roofs because storm work doesn't last forever and it will dry up.
My boss hired me and in three years we have gone to full time with an office building and office manager. It’s time I help take us to a new level. I’m a salesman, I don’t know how to grow us I’m a TH-cam university student. Everyday is an experiment. How do I grow my team!!! I’ll do whatever it takes! I know I wear too many hats. But I’m doing what I can where I can to help the business.
I’m in a similar situation man. Well slightly different. He has done mainly sub contracting work for another contractor but I want to change his perspective and start getting jobs for our selves. He has the right crew for it. The contractor he does work for is so pleased with my dad and his crew but at the end of the day the contractor is the one that gets all the praise and gets exposure to other potential clients
I just started running a roofing business. This video hits all the right points. When you are a business owner, you take on many liabilities. Employees do not need to deal with that risk.
@@wranefis I did not find the right workers. I found one solid solid worker and went through two others who were not fit to work due to drug addictions, etc. I was doing about one roof a week. I live in an area with low population and very few roofers.
Great tips Definitely agree, should not have a sales goal your first year in business But I think you should hire slow and fire fast. Be careful who you hire and fire fast because a couple bad guys can destroy a company name. Branding is definitely key to scaling The most well off people I know happen to own roofing company 💪
I'm in my first year of buisness, currently waiting on two jobs to let me know yes or no and iv been watching all of your videos, great help and very informational thank you big thanks to you
@@erichayes4285how many guys do you need to hire for a roof ? do you hire a quality inspector ? when you get a crew do they have their own tools or you provide them?
Hey man! Is your mentorship mainly applicable for the US market or for different parts of the world as well? I’m a sales guy and have only been working for roofing companies before, not myself. So I know alot already but do need someone as a safety net. Cheers
I created a job nit a business. I was creamed in auto collision , Here in California roofers employees or not you have to maintain a work comp policy. I cranked out all tile repairs and tile re paper. As soon as the collision I financially collapsed. Suspended license. I hope to regain stability and rake your advice
Can I start my roofing company without a warehouse like i have a crew who works for me I’m trying to open one but I don’t have an address of a warehouse can I start at my joise
Depending on location, there’s typically a supply house that will deliver your materials to the address of the job..You don’t need a warehouse. It may be helpful to have a mailing address for people to send checks signed contracts, but for the most part, you can do a lot of that virtually nowadays, so yes you do not need to warehouse. You can just have it delivered from the supply house to the project. i’ve been having it done for the last 10 years. I hope that helps.
