Man this video and the fun you guys have trapping along with Kenny’s high energy exclamations were just the medicine I needed to chase away the blues today. Many thanks.
You guys sure have fun trapping, enjoy watching you. Had fun trapping years ago before prices fell. Never trapped beavers, interesting setting and finishing.
Great video guys! Currently I use rebar drowning rods as I didn't have great luck years back with wire. How much weight do you use and what kind of wire that doesn't kink? Thanks.
Kenny got so excited he ripped his new glove!😢😢 Have you found anyway of repairing the gloves when they get leaks or does it depend where the hole is? Congratulations on some really nice beavers! Quality or quantity is always good. Thanks for showing us the river this winter, Carlson Brothers! Much appreciated...👍
Nice catch , I do admit that a 65 lbs beaver is a big one ,but after having trapped these animals for years , I am 76 now , and I have so far caught four above 80 lbs , I don't know if its the territory or certain families but some seem to grow very large , and these were weighted on approved government scales, I have caught many above 65 lbs , In fact that weigh is not a surprise to me or trappers in this area. Now how about beavers with missing parts? I did catch one had no front feet, missing toes on both back feet and a crucible steel snare that had been grown over after he had apparently gotten away from years prior ! , THAT was a first and last for me !
Around here they get trapped so hard they do not get much over 50 and 60 is rare here. We catch 400-600 every year and have for decades and a 60+ is very rare for us.
I miss boat motors that worked right. Damn 4 strokes are heavy and have that stupid gear shifter instead of the twist right go forward and left for reverse

I think drying the fur was the hardest part of trapping this winter. I actually carried a few old towels on the 4-wheeler.
Yup, no snow was good and bad!
Again, Thank you for sharing with this newcomer.
Thanks for watching , lots more to come!

I wonder how many times over the years have you guys got your fingers snapped by one of those traps 😮😮
Not as much as we used to but a few times a year it happens.
Those little ones are nice to use to make things out of, their fur is much softer than the big ones.
