I'm from eastern Nebraska, but have been to the panhandle a number of times. There's so much to see there. Most of the city folk from Omaha and Lincoln have never seen any of these places. Their typical drive west is I-80 to Denver and the Rocky Mountains. Many people from Omaha have never even seen the Sandhills. As someone else mentioned, the Wildcat Hills State Rec Area is a nice place to visit as well. When I show people pictures of the Yucca cacti, pine trees, and big rocky buttes, they never guess it's Nebraska. Thanks for sharing.
I’m from Scottsbluff and there are some more awesome spots tucked away in some private property off trail in the Wild Cat Hills! More sandstone erosion led to some beautiful formations similar to what we see 70% through this video but surrounded by beautiful forests. :) It was fun being brought home for a little while thanks! ❤️
If you take Hwy 20 through the upper section of Nebraska there is a lot of things to see. The Oglala National Grasslands, Chadrion Neb., Fort Robinson,
Ahhhhh ....."Autumn, the year's last lovelinest smile" ..... how true! So brilliant and vibrant. 🍁🍂 I found the rock formations very interesting ...loved seeing the bunny 🐇💕 Paco is quite the trooper, climbing the formations along the trail ❣️ The lake is lovely 🗻 So quiet there! Love it! 💞
I live up in Hot Springs, about 50 miles away from Toadstool. Been to Crawford many times and missed this gem. Thanks. Close enough to catch the mammoth site outside Crawford and spend the night here. Keep on rollin kids.
My family has deep roots in western Nebraska. We go back 5 generations in the area. There are some very nice areas there. Don't miss Chadron State Park while you're in the area!
Great video! I have that exact accordion T-shirt. I’m an accomplished accordionist and it drives me nuts that they printed it backwards. The keyboard is on the right side. 🪗 Looking forward to checking out western Nebraska all the way from South Sioux City. 🙂
I found your channel while searching for places to hike 🚶♂️ in Nebraska and really enjoyed this video 📹. I ❤️ what you are doing on your channel and am I new subscriber. I also hit the notification 🔔 so I won't miss any videos. Thanks for putting this together & sharing
Loved the hike you did up to the buff. Beautiful views. We’ve never ventured off of Interstate 80 in Nebraska so maybe we will have to try that at some point. Loved the sandstone sculptured landscape. The formations are very interesting. Thanks for exploring the out of the way places!
The roads into Toadstool were long and wash boarded, so that was slow going, but I think it was worth it!! Definitely fun to find something like that in the Midwest!
Very nice video and if you are worried about air quality, you should look into getting an electric car. I know of a couple that has an airstream (about the size of yours) and pulled it with their Tesla Y for over 4000 miles without any issues.
i hope you folks do not get mad at me i am a african american man that loves people that is the way i was raised love god bless the world needs love not hate
Beautiful and unique area. I've been by soooo many times, but never had a chance to stop and check it out. I *need* to make some time! 🙂 Awesome video.
Great little lakeside spot and loved the views from The Toadstool campground! The Toadstool hike & walking look fascinating - I could spend days there.
So happy you guys are back exploring and sharing the adventures weekly. Yay! It's so neat to see the more obscure places you visit. I never, ever pictured Nebraska to look like that. Next week looks even more incredible. Can't wait!
When I lived in Morrill in the 70s, I had a friend who had relatives that owned a part of Carter Canyon. We spent a LOT of time out there. Very nice place, surprising that only a few miles away, you would never know it's even there!
This was around Sept. 24 and it was quite pleasant, I don’t recall overnight lows but daytime was probably upper 70s/low 80s. We love watching Paco on the trails ☺️❤️

I'm not sure why you were sniveling about air quality more than once...pretty obvious the air was fine and you could see forever. Try living in LA or Phoenix.
What the hell is that woman talking about?! The air quality is GREAT in Scottsbluff, NE! She ought to go to the Central Valley of California in the Summer, if she wants to see what questionable air quality is really like, lol.
say wanderland travelers whats up i grew up in omaha went omaha central lots of years ago but i have been living in baltimore county for the last 16 years now my job made me out here but one thing i can say a bout omaha des moines is that people are more down to earth in a good way
Not quite clear when you talk about air quality. Scottsbluff area is approx. 5,000' ASL so yes, the air is thinner. Humidity is commonly low most of the year. You could have been getting some air/smoke from the fires in Colorado. Can you please clarify?
They are typical Midwesterners...very friendly, and hospitable. Nebraska Cornhusker football fans are known as some of the nicest fans in college sports.
Being from Michigan, we consider Scottsbluff and Western Nebraska to be the west. Scottsbluff is actually as far west as portions of the state of Colorado.
I apologize but Nebraska really does nothing for me. I am sure there is many awesome places like in Iowa. Maybe football has me jaded. Stay safe and well !!!!
😆 those darn state rivalries! We were so happy to find these little pockets of the West. Toadstool was especially exotic but definitely far off the beaten path!
@@WanderlandTravelers Well, Ladies and Gents, as someone who grew up in SW Iowa where Omaha is the focus and as someone who lived 10 years in Western Nebraska, I can tell you Parts of Western to Central Nebraska have gorgeous areas. Eastern Nebraskans have no idea as they roll past on I 80 to Denver. I remember a very busty Nebraska gal I used to date who was an actual locomotive engineer on the BN line from Denver to Lincoln. She had a t-shirt that said "not everything in Nebraska is flat." Travelers, you missed some areas which I think would really tingle you. But, even as a former Nebraskan, we are very protective of those, perhaps selfishly. If you give it some effort you will find them. Those areas where the skies are extremely clear at night and if you pull out the roads and power lines it stills looks as it did 150 years ago and of course thousands of years before. I miss that area between May and November because of the low humidity but in the winter I prefer to be back in SW Iowa. The wind out there will drive you crazy in the winter,

From Sidney Nebraska back in the day Scottsbluff had some really nice car audio shops.

Glad you enjoyed our take on your hometown! Thanks for the tips 👍
I've driven through many times. One of my favorite places.
If you take Hwy 20 through the upper section of Nebraska there is a lot of things to see. The Oglala National Grasslands, Chadrion Neb., Fort Robinson,
It’s great to challenge misconceptions! We passed through the Grassland to get to Toadstool 👍👍 thanks for the other tips
The wetlands of Nebraska are amazingly beautiful. Sometime stop near Grand Island and see the Crane Migration. Nothing like it!

Scottsbluff has many claims to fame, but my favorite is that it's where Randy Meisner was born and raised. 🥰
It looks so dry.. I like that!
The museum at the base is really cool too

Very relaxing. Thanks.
Pretty cool tour.....thank U!....I subbed and look forward to future videos:)
Shame for not hiking the trails at Fort Robinson and stopping in at the High Plains Homestead & Cookshack.
That looks like a fun trip off the beaten path! 🙂
We were very pleasantly surprised! Not the best gravel roads, but definitely worth the effort 😃
I really enjoyed this, thank you! I am going to Scottsbluff for sure.
Thank you 🙏🏻
WOW, all my favorite Nomad YT'ers are all in Nebraska, WY, SD and ND areas these days. Cant wait to discover that area too. So glad to be a new Sub!!
Welcome to our channel ☺️ I wonder if the other RVers were escaping the wildfires out west as well! This area has some great things to offer!

Beautiful. Great photos too. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Thank you 😃 both spots were so fun, and we especially loved the soft colors of the sandstone at sunset

❤️ we’re so happy to be back out there! It’s so fun to be surprised by places we thought we knew! 😃
You should have gone to Carter Canyon when you were in Scottsbluff!! WAYY better than the actual Scottsbluff.
We’ll have to check it out next time, thanks for the tip!

The geology there is very unique. What a fantastic find. Paco is a superb hiker.
The wildlife was epic.
What were the temps like?

Are people nice in Scottsbluff?
Well we didn’t interact with many people since we were camping and it was a short visit, but Midwesterners can be very friendly folks
