Once again, we’ll done Dan. Factual and just as importantly thoughtful. So often we just look at the accident and not the person. Your story shares the human side of things that is so often missing.

The Demons do not discriminate and we as adults need to stop the stigma of "junkie" as you did very well in this documentary reporting. Tragic and heartbreaking to anyone who has struggles but the human just wants freedom from pain.
    Good Job Dan. Bravo Zulu

The speedball (narcotics and amphetamines) effect would have made him feel like Superman. Having no pain, boundless energy, overcoming common sense. So tragic and sad.

Tragic and avoidable. Always a hard one to swallow. My thoughts are with his family.

Something wrong with this story in terms of supervision of Halladay's aviation medical? Would he be alive today if the privilege to drive a car or fly were removed?

Roy lied to his doctor about it. Which is also a felony

You raised it; yes I think you gave him a pass. He knew he should not fly on drugs, that, and the hot dogging killed him. RIP.

Having the medical issues does not excuse the reckless use of the drugs and choosing to fly. As adults, and as pilots, we have to make that decision to stop one or the other. He failed.

Very professional coverage of the story in my opinion. Maybe this can help someone else from not doing the same thing.

Very sad and tragic story. He was the best pitcher the Jays have ever had in their roster. RIP Doc.

Dan, I think you were very kind but also have the facts straight. This is a hard subject to deal with on many levels. I have a family member that deals with severe back pain. It’s horrible.. Thank you for being honest and sensitive to the family as I think you did a great job with your story. I hope you are having a stellar day!! Fly safe and keep the great stories coming.. I love your channel..

Excellent and accurate analysis of accident. Great ball player unfortunately plagued with demons. Like folks who drunk drive, they may get away with it a few times, but at some point it catches up with them and they hurt themselves or someone else.
ICON training now has an even strong focus on aero decision making and low altitude safety. It’s incredibly fun to fly, but you can never forget you are in an airplane.

In my view, he was on a suicide mission...to end; chronic pain, drug abuse and alcohol addiction....
Shamefully, he didn't have the will power to remain sober for his family; especially his boys and wife...

Another great analysis. Is it equpped with a CAPS (cirrus aircraft parachute system) if not in a Cirrus aircraft, be more of a APS.

He should have named his plane, "The SpeedBall".
