A barren land becomes a thriving ecosystem in just two years! Watch the journey and impact of Paani Foundation's Miyawaki forest in Nhavi Budruk village, Satara district, planted in partnership with SayTrees.
The Miyawaki forest growing method, pioneered by Japanese ecologist Akira Miyawaki, is a method of creating a fast-growing forest in just 2-3 years. After selecting a plot of land carefully, 2,000 saplings were planted in a dense method, close to each other. This creates a competition for sunlight and air amongst the saplings, and results in faster growth.
Only local varieties were chosen to be planted, to ensure maximum resistance to local climatic conditions, and thus ensure maximum survival. All saplings were planted via shramadaan (voluntary manual labour), and for 2 years, the forest was tended to carefully. Now, this forest is three years old (as of September 2020), and is frequented by birds, bees, insects and butterflies. Watch this beautiful transformation and tell us how you felt. :)

अतिशय लोकोपयोगी उपक्रम. खरंच आता शहरात रस्त्यांच्या कडेला पक्षी, मधमाशी यांना उपयोगी वृक्ष लावण्या साठी पाणी फौंडेशन सारखी चळवळ उभी ठाकली पाहिजे. हल्ली लहान मुलांना भारतीय झाडांची नावं देखील माहित नाहीत. चिमण्या, पोपट साळुंकी शहरातून हद्दपार होऊ लागलेत.
देशी झाडे खूप कमी आहेत म्हणून पक्षी हद्दपार झाले, विकासाच्या नावाखाली देशी दुर्मिळ झाडे तोडली जातात ,व लावतात गुलमोहर सुबाभूळ सारखी अनावश्यक झाडे
महाराष्ट्र घडवण्यासाठी तुम्ही आलेले आहेत आणि आम्हाला आशा आहे की अशाप्रकारे जिथे जिथे काम केलेला आहे

This is extremely great......... I have studied Rapid afforestation techniques of various environmentalist and this one is actually a bit difficult but fruitful.......
Everyone should read all the three books of of Dr Akira miyawaki where he actually describes how he learn about Rapid afforestation. It describes about the 19 records of of Buddhist monks from South Asia Sri Lanka and India which we created forest in a completely devastated Java and Sumatra islands after volcanic eruptions and forest fires. He also mentions nine Indian scriptures like *"Prakash Ayurved", "Vriksha Ayurved", "Bhadrabahu Samhita"* etc. he also recites many teachings from *"Vishwakarma Prakash"* , an ancient architecture study.

Why don’t plant trees using this way in the median strips and verges of highways? Its a great idea.Dense trees will also prevent high beam from blind the traffic on the opposite side and shall provide cool environment by providing shade during summers.
but its dangerous when theres storm. tree branches and leaves can cause accidents
During storms trees spare no one anywhere,not even at homes.If storms became the reason to not plant trees then all the countryside roads , city roads etc will appear barren.Trees like oleander are planted on median strips as its a softwood species.Even shisham trees and eucalyptus (big ones) are there on the verges of highways all over Punjab and Haryana.They change the landscape, provide respite from scorching heat.The only downside is during storms some branches fall and cause accidents.But that doesn’t stop the government forest officers from not planting them.Though I agree with u but a way needs to searched.Bathinda -Dabwali highway has Bougainvillea planted on medium strips which is a pleasure to watch.
This sort of reforestation is extremely impressive, well done to those involved for doing such an amazing thing 👏
