- A short video to help show you what to do to re load your settings, parameters, programs, macro variables and offsets back into your machine from a back up floppy disc or floppy/usb emulator,
This is normally required after a battery failure or basic memory loss
Thanks for watching

Hey Marc.
Good of you to include this in your series of videos.
I am sure this information could definitely be helpful.
Thanks for sharing.
Peter.
Thanks
Marc
Thank you for this tutorial helped me get the parameters loaded!
your welcome, glad it helped you
Ok, for me it did not work exactly like this video. To reload, I had to go back to the POSITION screen, type in my machine's serial number, and press F3. Same process as saving them to the disk, but that was F2. Awesome video. Thanks.

Your welcome
Thanks Friend, it is very useful and good information. What I need is here...
Your welcome
Another bit of legacy info for reference. Good vid 👌
Glad you liked it!
Thanks
Marc
Thank you so much for posting this! Do you have an electronic tool offsetter? Can you do a video on that or email me some info?
You're welcome,
On my machines i use the Renishaw TS27R for tool setting
@@kinzy_fabrications did you install this as well as the macros? I’ve heard that these older machines don’t have enough memory to store the macros and such for probes and tool setters? I would love to get this installed on my machine.
You need to have the Macros option yes and also you need to have at least 1 meg memory on the machine to store the renishaw probing macros
Awesome Thx :-)
No problem!
thank you for this video its the best
You're welcome
Perfect timing 👍
Hi Andrew
Hope your up & running with your machine now 👍
@@kinzy_fabrications no, not had the time, got a few weeks off due to me, so will tackle it then
Marc one thing i did forget to ask you about previously ?
On your Mazak Lathe.
Which USB to RS 232 adaptor did you finish up going with ?
I did see your post on Practical Machinist some time back.
Finally worked out it might be you ( i am having a Good Guess, LOL )
I could not think of to many people in the UK that might have a Hyundai / Mazak QT-15 , lol.
Plus not many care to much for these old CNC Lathes to be asking for current information about this machine.
Long story shorter ??
I see the forum was recommending 2 options mainly ?
Mazview or CNClink
Which of these did you decide on or was it something completely different ?
Regards Peter.
Hi Peter
I decided to with software called CNCLINK.COM
Cost was about £140 including a cable
I only bought the version that’s allows me to load and save but NOT edit programs as I don’t need to
It’s very good though and works perfect
Thanks
Marc

Thanks for letting me know Marc.
For some strange reason my machine lost an English menu. Do you know if I can reload this from the floppy? I have an original floppy, unfortunately a few years back I installed USB drive.
Do I need to put a floppy drive back on the machine or I can just copy files to the USB drive from my floppy and load everything from the USB drive. It's a bit convoluted. Sorry about that. Thanks.
Hi
Yes if you transfer your files from your floppy to usb using your pc and a floppy disc reader then you can re load them as per my video using the usb
Thanks
Marc
Very good video sir , do you know how to reload the setting when the screen is black only showing haas logo , i replace the batterys and when i turn it on i was showing the logo only
Hi
U fortunately I am not able to help you with regards a reset from a blank screen,
Thanks
Marc
Hi Marc, can you please let me know how to set up program send and receive in VF OE.
There are couple of RS 232 female ports with DB25. I would like to set up send and receive function through USB in to my laptop.
I have connected db25 to usb cable and set up the bits and baud rate. But I don't get through. Please upload a video if possible. Thanks
Hi
Il see if I get time to do a video on this as I’d potentially like to try the DNC set up on this VF3 I’ve just got
Thanks
Marc
@@kinzy_fabrications thank you
Can you connect your computer to the machine to add data or is it too old for it
You can transfer data via RS232 cable but I just use the usb floppy emulator as it’s much much easier
Any chance you can tell me what your machines parameters 229,230,231 axis leads are set to ?
Hi
Parameters as follows
229 is -47000
230 is 40000
231 is 0
Thanks
Marc
Hi, your videos are very useful. You helped me complete control of this machine. I never ever worked before in haas. Now I'm good because of your videos. All credits to you.
Now,
Can you please let me know how to unlock parameter?
My tool changer has been disabled in parameter 57.
I did parameter 7 unlock. Then tried to change parameter 57 to enable tool changer. But still I got message " function locked ".
Please help me with this. Thank you.
Hi,
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy the videos.
It sounds like your servo's are still on? you must also have the emergency stop button pressed in to change any parameter.
If you wish to change parameters,
Make sure setting 7 is turned to - OFF
Then press - E-STOP
Then go into parameters
Arrow down to 'DISABLE T.C'
Yours if it is disabled should have a 1 next to it?
Type the number 0 and then press enter and it should change from a 1 to a 0
The number 0 next to it means that parameter is disabled and the number 1 means it is enabled
Hope that helps
Thanks
Marc
I have just uploaded a short video as well to show you how its done
Thanks
Marc
Thank you very much. I will try and let you know. I have some other problems as well. I will let you know by comments soon.
