Ryan, your playing of the Nocturne in B Major blew me away. This is a wonderful concert you have presented, and all the more beautiful because you have touched us with your heartfelt playing. Thank you, and know that there are people out there who wish you well and know we will watch your rising star.
Magnificent Chopin playing - a joy to listen to both musically and pianistically and wholly compelling because he offers not only impressive performances but also individual interpretations. A pianist with something to say and lashings of technique with which to say it. Playing that will always feel right.
Ryan; your rubato - say - 'a capriccioso' - follows a dictum ..." Rubato must emerge spontaneously from the music, it can't be calculated but must be totally free. It's not even something you can teach: each performer must feel it on the basis of his or her own sensitivity. There's no magic formula: to assume otherwise would be ridiculous." You have it exactly. Chopin would approve. I do....
Truly, that’s too much music coming from a pre teen. And you say that he was eliminated in this round? Unbelievable. I would like to give him a high praise of excellence not only for his musical ability, but for the consistency of which he makes that piano “sparkle” the whole performance.
I so appreciate you replying to me. I thank you over and over. You know, that would have been just too hard for the mind to take. I’m glad that the kid has a future of good fortune ahead.
