@andrewblakesley4202 I wouldn't disagree with that statement, but the cometa seems to be a lot less picky with different pellets. It shoots well with just about every pellet he puts through it.
Yes, normally you'd expect the Weihrauch to be doing better with anything coming out of the JSB factory. Maybe it'll do better with the H&N Field Target Trophy?
I `was` a Weihrauch fan, but because of lack of stock at my Dealer, I started buying Cometa rifles from them, as they do have a good inventory of these Cometas. Now folks, I have to tell you, I too have been finding that my Cometa rifles are shooting ( for me, and I am NOT a top notch shooter ) every bit as well as the Weihrauch springers. I am about to order my fifth Cometa rifle shortly because of the way these rifles shoot for me. These are a top quality rifle, and nobody I know of, has ever been sorry for buying `quality;.
Great video love the hw50 mine absolutely loves the h&n baracuda match 10.65gr 4.52 head size no tune on the gun and will print 1/2 groups at 50 yards if I do my part 3/4 on average
Not a criticism, just an observation. I get the best results from my spring air guns, particularly untuned break barrels, using a supported open hand and gentle rear grip. If I simply rest the fore end on a bag the groups are always larger with more flyers.
It's all about pellet choice with either gun. I know that Cometas love RWS Superdomes but with the right pellet you wouldn't be able to tell which gun shot which group, either of them is capable of shooting one-hole groups at 25. I would also say that I would ALWAYS use the artillery hold with any springer, put your flat hand under the forearm of the gun when shooting. My HW97 would give me terrible groups if I just shot off rests like that but is capable of sub-1cm groups at 35m if I use the right hold.
Next to the Comet 100 and the Comet 300 I have all their models... and LOVE HIM ALL. As I do competitions, I ended up improving all my Comet 220 and 400 and they can work at 120 grams with the comet 220 and 90 grams with the Comet 400. However, I had never seen one of these Comet 300 disassembled to try to understand the mechanism and try to improve. Can you please show us how it works? I'm tented to buy one Cometa 300 just to prepare him for competition like the other. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Weihrauch HW50s .22 cal is one of the most pellet picky rifles I have. At 10m it will shoot a quarter size group with most pellets, but most of my guns will shoot a one hole group at 10m. I read the Hard Air review and it said the Hobby's were the best. Sure enough the Hobby's stacked in one hole and I mean a single pellet size hole.
Great video! There are not enough comparison vids between two fantastic air rifles. Would you considet making one between the crisman 2100 vs daisy 880? There are none on youtube. Im sure it would get tons of views
Weirauch is pronounced VIRE-ARK. 👍🏽 A great video. I used to own a Cometa 300, it's a great gun, I quite liked the the trigger on mine, bit now I have the Weirauch (Vire-ark) HW95, which is amazing in every way! I am considering on purchasing the Weirauch HW99S. You did a great job comparing the two. Bless
I used to pronounce it that way but I was chastised by several people that speak the language and after careful research I am pronouncing it as the Germans would. I know there are probably at least 1/2 a dozen different pronunciations.
Im seeing the at $421 ... And the 30s was $379 the last I looked. 😢 But im thinking thats a good target price for something nice at the range. That I would want to use often and have fun with.
So just out of curiousity at what distance/range do you like to zero you scope at with your break barrel air rifles like these 2 you are shooting in the video?
That was a surprising outcome! I'm glad I bought my Cometa Fenix 400, it's been great!
I've purchased 4 Cometas, and very happy I did.
It's about getting the pellet right. I have exceptionally accurate Weihrauchs in 4 calibres. Each only shines with the exact correct pellet.

I’ve been looking at those Cometas
Nice looking guns
Can’t quite afford Weihrauch
Get one, and spend the $60 to have John tune it. Money well spent!
@@BrettBaker-uk4te your right!
Those are fine rifle scope combinations nice shooting sir

Thanks. I did look back at previous shooting sessions with the Weihrauch and it seems to prefer an artillery hold. Maybe a rematch is in order!

The cometa seems to really not be very pellet picky at all. The hw50 is a little more but not to a great extent
That Cometa sure does shoot well! I guess you can have an accurate Break-Barrel!😮❤❤❤
I want one 🤪
Both are great shooting guns Nibs,
I would like to put them up against my Air Arms TX200 MKIII .177
Gonna do a 25yd can cutting challenge ..mmm maybe today we'll see if the weather cooperates.
I was truly shocked at a 2" group for the Weihrauch. My HW 95 consistently punches dime size groups at that range. The Cometa is fatstically accurate.
I know I have shot the hw50s a lot better in the past I will have to look back at my old videos to see what I used back then
I really like the stock on the Cometa and no auto safety is a plus
I agree.
It seems TH-cam remove my comment from yesterday.
Anyway great video!😃👍
Now I want to Cometa, lol.
It feels bad when your comment removed isn’t it?😂
Cometa do offer a good value rifle and shoot above the price point

$300 for the Commeta
I guess applies to both guns but open rest is not good my hw 50 likes h&n Ftt and 25 yrd good group is no problem at all
The hight adjustment wheel is slightly turning every time you shoot, is there a lock for it on this stand ?
Of all my guns my Cometa Fusion is the most accurate, and you get a lifetime guarantee
Nibs have you found the pellet the HW50s likes best ?
To be honest I have not had it out since I did this video. Been going non stop!
@@WalnutandSteel ok Thanks

Most springers I setup for 25 yards
@@WalnutandSteel Thanks for the reply and That is what I do as well.
You have some hard rain coming your way buddy
We could use a few drops!
No comments from the Weihrauch die-hards?
Hard to argue with those results.🤭

I sold a weihrauch 95k in favour of a 300s,way cheaper the quality is good and its a lot more pointable.
Something’s not right with your Weihrauch. I have two and both shoot groups half the size of the Commeta!
Valla Cometa a dado mejor resultado .
Saludos
That’s a 400 isn’t it?
Cometa 300 USC Premier
@@WalnutandSteel looks identical to the 400 usc in the uk
The 400 usc is a little more powerful and has a better trigger system, other than that I think there isn’t much difference
Come on. HW wins this every day of the week. Something is very very wrong.
