I found India's friendliest street.

- In Jodhpur I go in search of the famous blue buildings of the city and come across perhaps the friendliest street I’ve ever encountered anywhere in the world where nearly every resident welcomed me with huge smiles and a tremendous welcome.
Along the way I get invited into a carpenter’s studio to watch him saw wood, then I stumble across a man selling trombones in a very unexpected area.
A man invites me into a temple to watch him pray to then bless me as well which I found quite a humbling experience.
I’m also educated by several people standing around a vegetable stand as to what the different names of vegetables in India are called - one particular man is quite the character.
We also discover a temple which offers food cooked in large pans and are greeted by a local man who tries to explain what’s going on.
After climbing a considerable amount of stairs we finally get to a blue guesthouse rooftop where we are able to get a view of the blue buildings of Jodhpur as well as the imposing fort that looms over the city.
This was maybe my favorite travel day so far. A wonderful experience on all accounts.
I love the way you respectfully talk to people. I will be there in October with my family cant wait.
Hi Robert, and thanks. What I find is the more respect you offer the more interaction and respect you receive. I'm excited for you to be traveling here, I'm sure you and your family will love it.
It seems like early morning is the best time to roam around india. Less chaos & ppl are mostly in good mood due to less heat & humidity
Yes, you might be right. Everyone seems very relaxed and approachable in the mornings.
New subscriber.. hello from Ireland 🇮🇪
I love , how friendly the people are in that market. I like your take on not making people uncomfortable by record them. ❤❤❤❤.
Ali, honestly, they were all so happy, smiling, and welcoming it was almost a little surreal. I've never been in a such a friendly foreign street.
@@fiascodagama1 Are you in india now days ?
@@fiascodagama1if you are , that please come in our area also my home town located near Delhi , and Agra
The reason why your vlogs are so good is because you are an honest good hearted man. It comes through quite clearly. The friendliness that you perceive is because of our age old principle of Vasidhaiva Kutumbakam, the world is one family. Remove all mental barriers and be ONE.
Hi shivaram, thank you for the kind words. I was talking to someone this morning about how a person's attitude will often determine the type of travel experience they have. If you are open-minded, honest, and friendly towards others that sentiment will be returned to you. Indian people are very gracious and hospitable people and will reward you ten times for you being a sincere person. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
India is a different world… people are very friendly and helpful.. it is a fabulous country, it needs to be visited with a very and relaxed open-mind. 😊
I agree. If you're able just to relax and be respectful India and its people will embrace you wholeheartedly.
I am an indian, recently visited jodhpur in october. Your videos are fun to watch, you are just like a kid who don't know anything and feeling excited at all these sights and sounds.
That's me in general, I guess. I want to look at the world in wonder. Thanks for taking the time to say hi.
Loving your channel thank-you. Simple and informative content, inspiring many to go outside their comfort zone.
Gee thanks, Darryl. If someone is compelled or motivated to go travel because of any of my little videos that would be an enormous compliment. Thanks so much for taking the time to say hello.
@dirtcheaptraveller I'm sure people have and will continue to travel with all the help/information your vloggs provide. So good to see how calm you are in situations many would find tough. Reminds me of when I was lost in Moldova, my daughter stayed relaxed and and we managed to find our way onwards.
@@DarrylHayward-hq2zp Sounds like an interesting story from the road.
I love the vibes you give! Good video, welcome and enjoy your stay here!
Hey, karthiknb, thanks so much for the kind words and warm welcome.
Wayne when we travel vloggers are on a planned vlogging mission on the streets of India, those plans are thwarted by the most friendly people in India and that's a good thing. Not everyone is always having a good day but ah well. Keep up the good work.
You sure can be guaranteed you'll meet all types on the streets - that's why i love it.
You are blasting us with great content my friend! Awesome!
Always great to see you, UrielCopy. You're becoming my favorite follower, if for no other reason than me determined to hear you've booked your ticket to India and it's written on your calendar. Ha! Thanks as always.

That's really generous of you to say, thanks so much.
Love from India Wayne.. I’m glad you had such a great time here.. People are always nice to you because the energy you bring is pure and joyful. India tends to amplify the energy you bring. You came with a completely open mind and found just that
Youre very kind, udayakiran. Thank you.
That was a lot of steep stairs haha, get pretty fit climbing that every day I would imagine. Can't wait to see the fort.
Take a fair few more climbs to get to your level of fitness, Johnno. Looking forward to the fort myself.
Every street in india is friendly...
I'm sure they are, but this street was something I hadn't experienced before.
Stumbled upon this channel by chance - and just loving it.
Your personality is infectious - the way you carry yourself and talk so respectfully to others - I can just aspire to be like that someday. You just made my day.
And I noticed you replied to every comment - it just shows across how sincere you are.

Hi sanid, we'll have to drop in for some food next time we're in town.
@@fiascodagama1 Sure! That'd be awesome!
The trombone shop seems kind of odd and out of place, having listened to Indian music over the years I can't say I ever remember hearing a trombone, granted I have limited exposure to their music scene(which I'm sure is vastly different from region to region) and have probably listened to more traditional to older Bollywood, Ravi Shankar, etc. Do you try to seek out any music while your there?
Hi bluefish. I enjoy music a great deal (even attempt to play it occasionally) and would be eager to engage in it as an observer/listener or even perhaps jam a little if the opportunity presented itself. With much of my time devoted to making videos, and with the nature or style of those videos being sort of random encounters, I haven't come across any music as such but would be very pleased should it present itself. Thanks for taking the time to ask.
You people are right feeling puzzled seeing the trombone shop in India. Actually it is not a trombone shop and trombone and other western instruments are not part of classical indian music. That shop is the office/store of a band of musicians for hire (we call it band or band party) to go and play music in a marriage procession/any other procession/road parade etc. To understand why they are playing western instrument and not indian ones you need to go back to history. These are imitations of british military bands processions which are copied by indian maharajas and then common people to celebrate special occasions.
@@soumyabrataroy4274 Gee, thanks so much for explaining the origins of the instrument and when or what it's used for. I thought it was really peculiar to see these things in the place I saw them - you've been very generous in educating us with the history and use. Thanks.
@@soumyabrataroy4274 Thank you for the information, that would be interesting to see.
You can go to any Hindu temple by taking off your shoes if they allow you to film you can Hindus are welcoming to their guest 🙏🕉️
It was very nice of the man to invite me into the temple. I always want to be careful not to disrespect. Thanks for the advice.
@@fiascodagama1 yes you can visit the temple film the inside structures but most likely don't go to film the idol of God directly some will don't like its related to santity of the temple and god until they allow you to film the idol but you can enter any temple to seek blessings in whole India 😊
@@samip3124 That's really good to know. Thank you, sampi.

The chilli snack is the best in jodhpur, he was trying fresh stuff, you should have tasted it.
It sounds like I missed an opportunity. I'll try it next time.
And everything changes after every 100kms ... One needs a lifetime to explore whole of India. Maybe that's why I don't have plans to go out of my lovely country😅
It would take a life time to fully explore India, i agree. you're very lucky to have such a diverse county in which to live. Thanks for dropping by, Maneesh.
I noticed a lot of shuttered up shops or houses , is it the time on day you are there or business not so great.
It's one of the aspects I like about the places I've seen so far - things don't get going until around ten in the morning it seems. Of course, many businesses are open quite late also.
CONGRATULATIONS on reaching 1000 SUBS. Soon your channel will be monetized if not already there. 😎🙏🤩🎉🎊
Thanks, Eddie. Hopefully we might get to do this full time one day - it's a long process I think to make any money from youtube.
@@fiascodagama1 🇮🇳 India is the place that can spur that growth 💹 on TH-cam especially because you (Wayne) are such a kind and happy-go-lucky spirit and the people of India are seeing that. As you can only be in India for 90 days each calender year on the tourist visa make the most of it. Keep coming back every year for 90 days especially around festival times like Diwali, Maha Kumbh Mela, Holi, etc and interact with the locals like you are so genuinely doing my friend. I'm going to be here for a total of six months every year. Only The UK🇬🇧, Japan🇯🇵, The US 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 can get 6-month tourist visas for each calender year with India. Anyhow keep doing your best here in Asia on your Line Ranger travels 🥾🥾.

Hi sanjay.
You might feel like Rocky Balboa going through that street :)
Just a tip that I think might help you but you are already doing amazing. If you speak a bit slow and use elementary level English words then you might have more success in getting the answers to what you ask the locals.
I think you're right. I do speak a little fast sometimes which would make it more difficult to understand. Thanks.
@@fiascodagama1 No, its not you. I have worked in various customer services and this is what they teach about talking in different accents to different native speakers. It is a very human nature to do so. Your style to convey message is also poetic so rather just use simple and questions - where is ... which way is.... or if you want to make an effort then watch the last video of "Bald and Bankrupt' He is so good that he just gave travellers very effective way to interact with minimum word sentences to learn which can be substituted with lots of things.
@@ashishnegi9602 and speaking louder doesnt help, right? 🙂
Theyre not deaf
@@NewLife-qj9mx I am not sure if you have been to India the traffic is so loud you can barely hear yourself. Secondly, it is part of the effective communication. It really helps when you speak louder you emphasise on letters and syllables for the listeners.

Hi Wayne, love your genuine attitude and straightforward content and a great Aussie attitude. Seems like the videos are growing on me..
just keep in mind...Anything which is out of the tourist circuit is generally fair.. general thumb rule, speak to local folks whom you want to and avoid those who come up to you to chat.. mostly..
Ask people to repeat words unfamiliar and look up on the internet or use google translate...
Also have Uber in hand in big cities just to give you a fair idea of the fare.. cheers 🍻

That's not entirely correct. I travel all over the world on a budget. I just happened to start a TH-cam channel recently not long before visiting India. Making assumptions isn't something I like to engage in, personally.

One should always be mindful of the potential for some to have a hidden agenda. Most people don't wish for anything other than a friendly encounter.
Hi Wayne, that wasn't a music instruments shop, in fact it was a kind of an of office for a band. When indians get married they book a band. Groom's family friends and relatives get together, some times a couple of hundred and go to the bride's home dancing in the streets while the band play bellwood hits one after another.
Thanks so much for explaining things for me, anugupta, I appreciate you taking the time.
Trust Wayne to meet the village idiot called "darkier/blackie" a.k.a "Kallu". 😂
