As someone who was firmly entrenched in the BlackBerry community from the 2007-2012, making the transition to non-physical keyboards was tough. I have fond memories of my many Crackberries, and the ability to touch type with ease. Fisher’s “when phones were phone” hit so many nostalgic notes for me cause we grew up during the same phone era. Totally understand what he’s going for, and think there’s still an audience for it. But for someone who doesn’t want to try and re-train muscle memory couple with a lack of nostalgia factor for those BB or Palm keyboards, it’s clearly a tough sell.
Yeah totally, and I hope there are many who can enjoy this product, but unfortunately, I don’t have very much nostalgia for physical keyboards and I just couldn’t fit them into my workflow. So yeah it’s a tough sell, but I hope some people can get them and enjoy them!
Great video, thank you. I was very curious on how this keyboard actually works on a daily basis and I got a feeling that most TH-camrs are not sharing their personal opinions. Also, I have subscribed to your channel :)
Awesome! Glad I could help! And as a new subscriber, let me know if there is ever anything that you’d like to see on this channel and I’ll do my best to make it happen!
It's funny hearing about your issues with the physical keyboard and how much easier you find the on screen keyboard to be. Back when the iphone and the HTC magic came out people were up in arms about the lack of physical controls. HTC even shipped the Dream which had a keyboard as a sort of hedge because we didn't know the software keyboard would work out. But yeah I am sure if you go back and look at a review that pitted the iphone next to a blackberry you would hear all the same points you made just in reverse. This is not to dunk or anything, its just wild to see how things change with the times. Thanks for the video
Yeah I kinda am too young 😅. I mention that a little in the video, I don’t have a nostalgia factor for that product so I just have to judge it on practicality
Happy to see this video before buying and I think I’ll hold for now, thanks. If it were around 75-80 dollars though, do you think it would already be worth it?
Personally, no, I don’t think this product is worth that much still, and honestly, I’m not 100% sure I’d get it if it was worth $20. But that’s because besides just the price, I find the entire product to be more of a hindrance on my phone than a help.
Even the Blackberry had bigger buttons and a bigger width. Most people who had a Blackberry are older, and the buttons are too small and hard to read. Note for editing, could you zoom in on your phone? It's really hard to read it when watching on mobile
Yeah totally, thanks for letting me know, sometimes I think I have it close enough but I’m not always sure, so thanks for letting me know for next time!
That might help with the comfort while typing, but I’m not sure if it will have any other positive effect on it. In fact, I don’t know if I want more overall weight on my device
Glad you like the setup! I just got the desk from IKEA, it’s just a big sit/stand one. The drawers and monitor stand is from Amazon and I got that after the fact. Here’s a link to it if you’re curious! amzn.to/4ajXIUq
All those reviews really scared about the disbalance but haven’t had any “top heavy” issues. I must say I also used a BlackBerry Key2, (and BB Priv before, which indeed had those top heavy issues for me) so maybe that got my muscle memory trained already. Yet still I believe this is only for the select few, as BlackBerry was from like their Passport era onwards. Disclaimer: I have the regular sized “small” iPhone 15, this might be a better balanced combo.
I have the smaller 15 pro (not the max) for this as well. Personally it did feel too too heavy, but thanks for sharing your perspective! That’s awesome!
Great review ! I don’t understand these ppl who are commenting negatively on this video ! The hype and marketing of this product really enticing everyone but $150 😳🙈 ! Hopefully in the future they can justify the cost but not now !
Yeah I agree, there were many little annoyances about the product, but the high price tag was the big turn off for me, but I don’t mind the more negative comments. I like to hear the other side of things but yeah I definitely stand by my take
the struggles are real. i was going to order one but after seeing everyone's reviews, it turned me off BIG TIME! what sucks is it doesnt have mag safe so i cant just it plop it in my car.
Does explain why he things "pressing physical keys" is "too hard" and unironically things the trash that is autocorrect is "superior". This does explain the collection of bad takes that is this video.
We can also swipe on a software keyboard. Not the greatest piece of innovation out there. Especially since it makes the phone longer and there is no sliding mechanism. Thanks for sharing, saved me $150!
While I appreciate your honest approach to the review, I would suggest not starting with your final verdict next time. Instead, you could begin with a question like, “Is this product any good?” or “Who is this product for?”. This would create some suspense and make the review feel less biased (even though I know it wasn’t). Other than that, this review was spot on. As someone who has enjoyed Michael Fisher’s content since his PocketNow days, I wanted to support him but struggled to connect with his vision for Clicks or understand who this product is meant for. I don’t mean to sound negative, I love quirky and unconventional tech, but even if it had MagSafe, a USB-C data port, and a lower price, I don’t know anyone who would want a physical keyboard on a smartphone. Personally, this product wouldn’t work for me. First, I rely heavily on swipe keyboards for faster typing. Second, I’m bilingual and need to see both languages on my keyboard. Even if I didn’t swipe or need two languages, I’d still prefer a software keyboard for the same reasons you mentioned in your review. Keep up the great work! 💪
Thank you for your feedback! You’re right, starting with the conclusion isn’t something I do often, and it wasn’t my best decision here is well. Thank you for giving me specific criticism, that’s very very helpful! Yeah I would have loved to support Clicks as a company, but I just can’t see the practicality. Thanks for sharing and I’m glad you still enjoyed the content!
@@Graf-XTechReviewsI suppose everyone is different but it’s opposite for me. Doesn’t feel click baity when you say verdict first. Your not tricking me for views so I’ll want to know why and listen rather than watch the whole thing to hear some thing stupid like it depends..
@JohnDoe-or3hc well thanks for giving your feedback as well! I think that was the idea I was going for when I did that, I guess I’ll just pick what seems right for the video and I’ll get some who prefer it that way and some that don’t and that’s ok
This is for people who had experience using a Blackberry. Not for the spoiled millenials or Gen Z. But the price brings no justice to this expensive experience
Sorry you feel that way, most of my reviews are pretty positive and balanced, but if I think something is a bad product, I’m not gonna hold that back either. Hope that makes sense
Sorry you feel that way, I tried to convey my experience with the product as best as I could. What were you looking for so I can improve my content going forward?
@@Graf-XTechReviewsThis video is overly dramatic. You focus entirely too much on complaining about the typing experience. Yes, there is a learning curve, but we don’t need to watch you struggle to learn how to type on this.
Billy, it's not ethical to return a fully functional product just because it didn't meet your personal preferences. It's important to do thorough research before making a purchase. Stores don't stock products for the purpose of being tested and returned. Taking advantage of the return policy in this way is sleezy. You are the reason we can't have nice things. Do better.
Research only gets you so far. You never actually know until it's in your hands. Returning a product because it doesn't meet your personal preferences is a perfectly valid reason. Otherwise they wouldn't except the return.

Yeah that makes sense, I totally see what you’re saying! It is interesting how that worked out! Thanks for sharing!
Already got mine, I’m too late to be saved lmfao but i love it over here 🤣
Well as long as you love it!
you might be too young to know what an experience of a BB was. However thanks for the review - it was interesting!

They need to add some more counterweights, this should help quite a bit
That might help with the comfort while typing, but I’m not sure if it will have any other positive effect on it. In fact, I don’t know if I want more overall weight on my device
What table desk do you use? The one with drawers. Nice vid/setup

Nice review! I almost went out and bought this thing simply because I liked the idea of a physical keyboard. But I guess that won't be happening LOL
Haha! Glad I could help in making your decision!

the struggles are real. i was going to order one but after seeing everyone's reviews, it turned me off BIG TIME! what sucks is it doesnt have mag safe so i cant just it plop it in my car.
Totally get that. No magsafe was a big deal to me as well. It makes me have to take the case off so often that I would basically never have it on!
Glad to see you have the Bible app. God bless you.
And I’m very glad to have it! It’s an essential for me! God bless you too!

Yeah exactly, just a few too many drawbacks with not enough upsides. Glad the review could help!
Sadly the form factor doesn’t really work because of the elongation and poor balance.
Agreed, I was hoping when I got it in person that I’d learn to love it, but I wasn’t really able to enjoy it
Honestly this is for those who had blackberries before. Not the ones who are used to smartphones without physical keyboards
Yeah I agree with that
Not sure what all the hate in the comments is for
Well there are definitely two sides to this issue, I welcome both discussions happily
Buying anyways because I'm stupid
Well, I don’t think it’s necessarily stupid if you got a good reason for it! So what is your biggest reason for getting it?

Yeah that’s my biggest problem, even for a nostalgic factor it’s just so pricey

extremely bad take
He bought a product he doesn’t like and doesn’t believe does what it says on the tin. Return away!
Micheal Fisher we know its you😂😂
Oh piss off
