The Old City: העיר העתיקה البلدة القديمة, al- is a 0.9 square kilometre mile) walled area within the modern city of Jerusalem;[3] it lies within East Jerusalem. Until the 1860s this area constituted the entire city of Jerusalem. The Old City is home to several sites of key religious importance: the Temple Mount and its Western Wall for Jews, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians, and the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims.

Thank you. My great great grandmother liquidated all her savings & her house in Ukraine or Belarus at the end of the 17th century and moved the entire extended family to Jerusalem/Jaffa. She bought a "rustic" compound & rented out rooms. The renters were lots of different flavors of Arabs, some Jewish
farmers & Shepherds, French folks, and lots more. They rented rooms and their animals and children milled around in the compound. My grandmother told of
playing hide and seek among the camels' legs with kids from everywhere, including my grandfather. They left around 1900 because everybody was dirt poor.
We've been in the US since. My grandmother wore a Bedouin dress to be married in.

I want to plan A Trip To Jerusalem, maybe...You can spend a day or two in the 'nook and cranny' places, those off the beaten path... And Of Course, The Beaten Path Too... Can Not imagine, Not Seeing The Places Our Savior Walked and Possessed. Love From Washington State, USA. If you are ever in The States, Come To Washington, we have Ocean, Mountains, Desert, Forest with Lakes and Rivers...So Much and a very comfortable stay here on Our Farm...

Mark Twain went to Palestine/Jerusalem in the mid to late 1800's. He said the whole thing was a paupers cesspool. That film from 1895 gives a good witness to that.

The second temple was a miracle of engineering and elevated Jerusalem to a true worship center for all Jews. Herod began construction work on the Temple in the 18th year of his reign, around 19 B.C. To avoid interruption in the Temple service, Herod had all the materials made ready in advance, preparing a thousand wagons to carry the stones and employing 10,000 highly skilled workmen. A thousand priests were divided into those who would be stone masons or carpenters and given special training for this sensitive task. Herod doubled the size of the previous Temple Mount and extended it to the South, West and North. It was a gigantic structure that and a wonder that attracted pilgrims from all over the world. It’s glory did not last long, however, because in AD 70 the Roman’s in retaliation for the Jewish revolt decide to demolish the temple. The Romans ensured that nothing would be left of the original Temple building. Massive stones that Herod put to enlarge the temple complex where now thrown down unto the streets below. For centuries the temple Mount stayed abandoned until the Muslim conquest of the Holy Land. Today the plaza is dominated by two monumental structures originally built after the city's capture in 661 AD. The Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa mosque. But what if I tell you that the Jewish dream to rebuild the temple is not over. There are things that are happening currently in Israel and around the world to clear out the way for a New Jewish temple. Wow! I was always told that their were plenty of so-called Blacks(maybe Canaanites) in Jerusalem before early 1900's. Now for the first time ever, I see for myself. Many thanks for the film. Also I do know the difference between Palestinian, the so-called Jews, and the Jews of today.

Followed by a succession of kings in both Israel and Judah, whose existences are well documented in the archaeological record. So, where were the Palestinians at this time? They were Arabs, who originate in the Hejaz. To the west of Judah, you had Philistia, who were the descendants of Aegean sea peoples who came from Europe. They were not arabs. And they were destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar II in around 600 BC.

Some people sure need to review their history. Don´t those people know that this area was settled first by the Palestinosaurius Arabicus Rex? The remains, of course, need to be found but there must be somebody looking for them somewhere.Those are the same people who must be looking for the remains of the Homo Arabicus Palestinensis. There is a great program on Israeli TV mentioning it, but I forget the name. And then, of course, an Arab professor of Nablus insists that Adam was an Arab who lived in ... Nablus. He has even been able to pinpoint the exact location. Wow! That must mean that Eve was also Arabic and that- thanks to Islam - she passed from the fig leaf to the Burqa. Now, that is progress! So Arabic, after all, is the most ancient language. Even before the click (Khoisan) languages. Imagine! But then, not as much progress as, for example, giving women the right to drive a car. Such a progressive example of gender equality! Let us just hope that those who have given such permission are permitted to live in order to pursue other such sweeping, profound, and significant changes. And so on and so forth. Who cares who came first or who came last? Why don´t we care more about how we as humans can coexist in the future?

No so true. Palestine wasn't a country even 1 day. It was part of so many countries that occupied Israel. In 1948 the UN Gave the Jews part of it and to the local Arabs another part. They decided to name their future country by name Palestine. Sadly before they became a country they been occupied by Jordan and Egypt
