What do you guys think about the feared Dread Wolf and how he plays into the story of Dragon Age? Let us know in the comments below!

I absolutely adore Solas as a character. He is complex and flawed and so interesting. He's mysterious, kind, conflicted, infuriating, and often an insufferable know-it-all - but my god if he isn't one of my favourite characters of all time. Especially after all of the lore you find during Trespasser, finally understanding who he truly was, how hard he fought to protect his people, the lengths he was prepared to go to for revenge... *chefs kiss*
He is wonderful. I love his character so much. I know he's not for everybody, but I think he is such an unbelievably well written character 🥰 I cannot wait to see him again in DA4!

I love Solas as a character. He is your friend and slightly mentor. But was using you to help right his mistake and is out to destroy the world. I love how conflicted he makes me feel.

What's makes him absolutely unique as a character is the fact that he have the ability to learn from others. And you can see how his perspective changes with the progression of the game. I have never seen a character that well created in any other game I have ever played. I really hope they will keep his uniqueness in the next game as well and let him develope its character to its full potential.

Romancing him makes it even *more* conflicting lmao my poor heart

You're wording made it seem like he is motivated by hatred (he is to some extent but it's much more complicated than that)

I came to Dragon Age pretty late, getting Inquisition when there was a good deal then playing Origins and II afterwards. I first found the Solas/Fen'harel stuff confusing, almost out of place. But it made much more sense from a storytelling perspective once I had played the earlier games and learned more about the lore. What I like about him as a potential story villain is that Solas is not a Blight, a drugged-out racist, or an ancient evil. There wasn't much to make you think that the bad guys were right in previous games, although they certainly had some bits of gray thrown about all over the place. But Solas as the main bad guy is someone who the vast majority of players can empathize with, especially since we spent the entirety of Inquisition with him. He's not seeking simple selfish gain or to eliminate a people; instead, he wants to correct an action he feels is wrong, that impacted millions of people. And what makes it bad is that no one alive remembers his action accurately, and everyone alive now would be impacted by his actions, and most won't have a possible reaction, since they'll probably be dead. I'm excited to see what BioWare does with the story, especially since I kind of want to see Solas win and have to help world afterwards.

I have a love/hate relationship with Solas. He is my second favorite broody elf boyfriend and the romance with him is so bittersweet it kills me. I just desperately hope there is closure with him in the next game that isn't heartbreaking for the Inquisitor, I don't wanna cry at a video game.

As far as where I feel at the end of Trespasser...I feel he could be one of the best villains ever in gaming. But only time and Dragon Age 4 will tell. I actually hope he succeeds. I think it would make 4 or the next game such a drastic departure story wise and would be such an amazing story...

Wait, this doesn't sound right. There were no Dalish elves in his time. There were just elves living in elvish cities.
And while he roamed the Fade, it wasn't what we think of now. There was no Veil, since he created the Veil.

    • @1BFAssassin

Solas back story of being a Dalish elf and becoming an apostate was a lie to hide his true identity.

    • @OuterOdyssey

Solas' backstory was a lie pretty much, he used that as a smokescreen to cover up who he really is.

I think Flemeth is a super powerful witch. Probably the most powerful of the "big three". I think Solas, though the Dread Wolf himself, is nothing more than a powerful mage, with Corypheus being a powerful magister. With the three of them all having knowledge of immortality. I think Solas and Corypheus had aspirations of walking in the Golden City (Heaven), in mortal form, through means of the Fade, with Flemeth not so much concerned. And Corypheus actually making it in, thus kicking off the events of DAI. All three know each other. All three are aware of the other's goals. Solas wants some semblance of control. Corypheus just wants to sit on the throne. And Flemeth is there to kind of keep them in check.

Corypheus didn’t know who Solas was, Solas only just woke up from his long slumber 1 year before the start of Inquisition.

Solas is a villain. He wants to tear down the Fade to help elves which will kill so many people possibly even leading to a genocide. That is clear villainy. Anyone who is ok with mass death the likes of which the world has never seen to help your race is an absolute monster in my book.

    • @draconisdragonheart4248
      @draconisdragonheart4248 3 ปีที่แล้ว

True, Solas doesn't make sense. Demons are not your friend, and he intends to release them onto the world. Elves were never immune to demons. It begs to question whether the writers are going to stick to the original lore.

Solas is what happens when very powerful mages become immortal. He is insane. He put the veil up for a real reason and apparently forgot how very bad the eleven mages were. The blood of the Titans Red Lyrium is what his fellow powerful mages did. Blood magic is great when you are killing someone else to fuel that power. That was their world. They build NOTHING with their own hands but stole the life of others to build their kingdoms. So Elves caused the blight by killing and mining the blood of the Titans. Mythal put an end to killing more Titans when she realized the harm it did, and that is why she was murdered by greedy power driven Elven mages.
