My mom made all us (4) girls hand piece this pattern together as our first quilt ever. Somewhat tedious but she would always say keep your hands busy. Today she’s in heaven and we her girls carry on the hand quilting tradition
I just retired and have organizing my sewing area. I found a bunch of these blocks. Can't wait to put them together in a quilt. It is amazing what you find after 20 years. I started in one corner and have found all kinds of things that I don't remember. LOL
Love the pattern. I have my grandmothers traditional bow tie quilt. She did it all by hand. She was born in 1894 and got her first sewing machine at age 11. I have that machine and it still work. God bless. 👏🏻💕👏🏻

Thank you for giving us blocks and material that isn't always flowery as nd feminine. Alot of people I wish to make quilts for prefer a more geometric type dedign. Thanks to all your design team at MSQC 👍
The great thing about you setting seams is that you bring it up one in a while, do it about twice, and then immediately forget again. It's SO cute! Love your videos, they inspired me to start quilting and now I'm on my second quilt.

I have learned all my quilting from you Jenny and love your weekly videos. Always thought quilting was too difficult but you make each quilt look easy so I have to try!!!
The bowtie was my first quilt I ever pieced, but I did it by hand, and used the old fashioned method of sewing four pentagons around a center square. This is MUCH easier!
Another great job Jenny, BTW I must have missed along the way, but 1) you look great 2) whats going on with your hands? Did you have surgery? I see you cant get your wedding ring on-hope you are ok and are recovering/staying healthy! We Love Ya Jenny; You are a constant shining star to me over these very difficult months during the pandemic - when this pandemic gets me down, I turn to your videos and I'm up again with hope! good idea. Looks like it would take 2 jelly roll strips for each major block. But don't make any mistakes cutting if you get a 40 strip roll. Of course the honey bun will have some left over. Mathmatically it works.
The only thing would be finding the matching jelly roll sets and honey bun set. Or else the strip would be better off (with the leftover after the 2.5 squares) cut into 1.5 strips so you can have strings for string piecing 😃
That's such a little piece. It is cute 💕. So it's ok not to set your seam!? I learned how to quilt by watching "ALL" your videos...hours and hours and hours. I just thought it was important to set the seams.
Mary-Ann Z. Reynolds you don’t have to set your seams. But in my opinion it’s better to set them as it relaxes the thread a bit to make the piece lay flat.
Hi Mary-Ann - I learned the same way! I've been watching Jenny for a while now! Even though she doesn't always do it, it IS better to set your seams. It makes the thread relax (like Lori Kalmeyer said) and it makes the whole quilt lay flat in the end. I have made quilts where you can actually SEE where I didn't set my seams on some blocks! Enjoy the quilt life!
@@CaleanWsh Me too! I love watching Jenny! Yes seam setting is a good habit to get into, however, I have skipped a seam setting or 2 and its ok, just a good habit to get into especially when matching is an important part of your design :-)

Great quilt Jenny 😃 Could you just use one Jelly Roll and one Honey Bun and then the background for this instead of 2 Jelly Rolls?
