While he was dominant his senior year, he was by far the most dominant his sophomore year. This year he pinned everyone in the NCAAs except for Hatchett and he teched Hatchett
I remember in 2009 when he was a senior in high school and there was a debate whether he or Eric Grajales from Brandon, FL was the best 135 pounder in the nation. I find that argument to be very amusing all these years later.
Taylor was so clever in how he could twist his body and wriggle out of defensive positions to get takedowns. He never stopped looking for an opportunity, and his motor was always in gear. His opponents could never take even a second off.
Wrestler could be up 13 points in the 2nd period with his opponent fighting off his back from a near side cradle. ESPN in 2012: "Make sure you are paying attention that riding time"
So very hard to believe that Taylor ever lost to Kyle Dake. He wrestles hard against everyone but Dake. Taylor went on to win Olympic gold. I believe Dake got teched 11-0 at his one and only Olympic showing. Taylor is still a dominator!
@@covertbanana8716 That’s why I never liked high school wrestling. I was a judo guy so I never got the big deal about giving up your back in wrestling, pure wrestlers don’t realize what I can do to them on my back. Lock in an armbar, Kimura, or triangle. I did get a lot better at wrestling as the years went on but my dad didn’t really like me doing It because he and the coach didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things. My dad and him wrestled for fun once and my dad, with only two years of middle school wrestling under his belt from 30 years prior, got 2 takedowns and 1 escape in less than 3 minutes of their simulated match. The coach was dumbfounded by my dad’s grip strength and he has insane grip strength too. After that, he didn’t quite like me, nor my dad butting in on my weight classes. He liked me at 152, but coach wanted me at 138 and my dad said that was too low (he was right). I wouldn’t have up and quit if I had talked to the coach more maturely.

7:10 These two takedowns then pulling Hatchett out of bounds was one of the coldest things I've ever seen
Kyle Dake could only score 5 on Taylor. Hatchet put up 7. Hatchet > Dake. all day.
Lmao
☠️
Dake got quiet after this one
💀
but who won? kyle dake!!!😂

Hes gonna get an olympic gold medal
Called it lol , I said the same thing when he won his 6th state championship
@@paulnokio1199 he won 4. Hall won 6
@@himom5518 dt won 7th-12th
@@paulnokio1199 then why did he hold up a four after his senior title?
@@himom5518 my guess is that he was only claiming 9th,10th,11th,and 12th. I know for a fact he won Jr high titles as well

David's huge now
Hard to believe only a 2x champ
Hatchett had a hell of a tournament
We used to do this as kids in his house in Hatchetts house lol. Brandon didn't start wrestling till high school. Started late compared to most
Can you put up his Caldwell match?
Yes, it'll be posted soon.
At the end of the match, I am pretty sure that I have seen more resistance from “Adam” tbe drilling dummy.
Ncaa post David Taylor PSU vs Tyler Caldwell OKST plz 2014 finals at 165.
Hi! We'll have this match up soon. Thanks for your request!
With todays rules This would’ve been a tech fall 15 secs into the third
Plz post Paul Donahoe vs Troy Nickerson. That sounds like and I’m betting an amazing finals match
I believe Hatchet was injured here. Probably would have lost healthy though
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Omg 😳
This is silly to post. Give me a match that’s high scoring and close near the end
Watch highschool wrestling for that
Well they’re posting it because Taylor’s in the Olympics and he’s doing quite well right now
High scoring? David literally teched the dude.
@@PsychExperience and that make it boring to me
