  • Wildlife nature reserve Far Ings located in North Lincolnshire near to the river humber & humber bridge, a great spot for wildlife & nature & an excellent reserve to see bittern, bearded tit, marsh harrier, water rail, kingfisher, reed warblers, cuckoo & many kinds of wildlife & flowers especially the bittern which nest in the reed beds
Far Ings is a wildlife nature reserve located near to the river humber so also a great spot to see waders & water fowl during autumn & winter
This wildlife nature reserve is especially made habitable for bittern which you comonly hear booming
Far Ings is situated on the south bank of the Humber Estuary, a major east-west flyway for migrating birds. The sight and sound of a skein of geese flying over is spectacular.
The pits and reedbeds at Far Ings and along the Humber bank are a legacy of the tile and cement industry which flourished between 1850 and 1959. Thanks to pioneering management by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, the reserve is now rich in wildlife and one of the UK strongholds for bittern
