One thing i realize after rewatching : This is the first time they use each other's first names. On top of that, Because it's in French, only the two of them understand each other and they are able to express their feelings much more directly than usual. This really is a well executed scene and it's very touching to see Mayakuro finally acknowledging each other's importance when before they only engage in rivalry.
