    Holy shit. He beat that bearing race like it owed him money.

    • @jimmycricket5366
      @jimmycricket5366 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah... you'd think the company could quickly turn out a brass mandrel/drift specifically for that size of race on the lathe.

    • @Titan-vi7vh
      @Titan-vi7vh ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimmycricket5366 Rookie mistake. You don't want to use brass. If a shaving of that brass comes off, then it would be in the pump, and kill it. The hammer was perfect. I don't know who needs to hear this, but the bearing race is MUCH harder material than that hammer, and therefore won't dent.

    • @jimmycricket5366
      @jimmycricket5366 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Titan-vi7vh If you hit it wrong you might get a sliver of brass coming off otherwise make one out of mild steel which is a lot softer than bearing steel. By the way it is still possible to dent or distort a harder metal with a slightly softer one if you give it a blow with the hammer being made of the sightly softer material.

There are also universal clip on soft jaws that just fit 4”,5” whatever size jaws ya got available super cheap on eBay but ya get what ya pay for both ways.

      Lol. Those specs. are not specific enough. Displacement volume, max pressure required and operating rpm are a descent start but you actually start at the other end of the system with what are you driving with it? Whatever cylinder or motor you need to drive will have flow requirements, your pump needs to support those specs.

    Gear, trochoid, lobe and other low part count pumps are more efficient as there are less parts to cause friction and wear.
