I can see that the “It’s a drag” comment was an expression of anger. He was really pissed off about the murder and didn’t like being questioned about it, either. It was really personal for him and he just wanted to go. So he said something snarky to the reporter and hurried off. He was not going to give the reporter what he wanted to hear, or what the public wanted to hear - it felt like an intrusion.
Yes, everybody forgets that Paul McCartney is human and is entitled to grieve in private. I don't think he even had a chance to process John Lennon's assassination when the media swooped down on him. Thanks for watching the video!
hate the interview from right before lennons murder where the press was still trying to drum up animosity between John and Paul...as usual Paul takes the high road and keeps it classy
Notice the seemingly matter-of-fact way Paul answers the reporter on his reaction to John’s murder....Paul is obviously in deep shock, the reality hasn’t registered yet.

The four meant a lot to us for all those years, who loved them and still continue to enjoy their beautiful medleys. So sorry, they weren't allowed to produce more together again, because of John's passing, far too soon from this world. Missing George's wonderful contribution and heart, ,that lent so much to the Beatle's sound. ❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️
The later interviews show a Paul who has come to terms with the break-up of The Beatles and his rocky friendship with John Lennon before his death. The earlier ones are in real time, which makes them strangely rare and beautiful. Thanks for watching the video.
Really well done video! Love that bit from what looked like an Australian comedian asking "hows the marriage..? " then adding " funny, you dont look Japanese.." hilarious!
At the time, there was a lot of animosity between Paul and John, so Linda was pissed at John and Yoko for treating Paul badly in the press. Thank goodness, Paul and John worked out all their differences before he died. Thanks for watching. And thank you very much for the positive feedback.
Really love how much effort was put into collecting and seeking out these clips, but i would have loved if there was no background music, or if there really needs to be maybe make it a bit less loud :'(

So true. The whole concept of a stalker-killer really gathered steam after John Lennon was killed. RIP one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Thanks for watching the video.
I was going by the interviews and got a timeline and it appears that they hadn't spoken for about 2 years or more before 1980. That nterview where Paul responds saying John had hung up writing and creating, that was May 1980. John had to have working on Double Fantasy or at least in the process of getting it going again. It appears that the stories of taking care of the baby and baking bread was likely around 77-78 and I don't think they talked again. Ashame really.
I think they privately spoke to each other but didn’t want to have the media shine a spotlight on their relationship every time they had a conversation. Can’t blame them. It must have gotten completely wild for them, since the two thought of themselves as Paul and John, not THE Paul McCartney and THE John Lennon gods of rock. Plus, John used to love drumming up publicity, and he knew a negative statement would travel around the world in seconds. Thanks for watching the video.
You don’t really believe that, do you? How do you explain his son James? He’s a carbon copy of Paul pre-1965? In any case, the new one is just as marvellous as the old one. Thanks for watching the video.

When you realize this is the greatest band of all time never to be topped in the era of mortal man, note how timeless superior their albums are as a band compared to their solo work let alone compared to the decade long discographies of other bands & artists, & then weigh out all the rocky ups & downs that came w/ their complete story as we remember it.....it really just puts things in perspective. You learn about how other bands will copy you & even attempt to release a cover of your song the day you do if not before. You learn how crazy crowds will shout so loud over you that even you cant hear the music let alone them & theyll still keep shouting like banshees until they pass out showing absolutely no care for the music(but every bit invested in their worship of your stardom). They showed how crazies will show up into your lives from Yoko to Phil Specter to that crazy last final boss devil of a manager & ultimately w/ crazies showing up to your front door, eventually one becomes crazy enough to shoot you in the back for no reason even killing the most irreplaceable foundational member of the greatest band long before he fulfilled his full life's purposes to enjoy & inspire the world while passing down his legacy through his sons who so greatly looked up to him. Many rock n roll stories end w/ a bang & a crazy moral at the end of the story so the greatest band of all time all the more shows us the bitter price that comes w/ the gift...& I truly believe even now that all 4 members knew & will know up to their final days musically their best years & best work were w/ each other. Keep in mind, they pioneered the age of multimedia platforms creating global stars & hadnt seen an era of burn fast stardom where normal young men became super rich & bombarded w/ an ungodly amount of drugs & women throwing themselves at them. As the greatest pioneers of the era, they handled themselves quite well even at their worst behind the scenes(like the whole George w/ Ringo's wife thing)....couldve ended a whole lot worst. I learned so much from their crazy adventure of a life.

I would never say their work as a group is superior to their solo work. There's no doubt they made the most amazing catalog together, but they never stopped coming up with great material on their own, and George and Ringo were allowed to grow as songwriters in addition to the superb material John and Paul gave us. I enjoy their solo-work every bit as much as their work together.
