Getting 9 points out of that group with 12 new signings was an achievement in itself.
17 new faces now in the door and Anges footballing philosophy is paying dividends.
Scoring in Europe wasn't a problem, netting 13 times, but at the back we were dire, conceding 15.
Sort that out in Europe and we should do ourselves proud.☘.

Another excellent programme! Love how Mattie O’Riley just pitched up at Parkhead and got on with it. Only 5 games in and he’s become a major component in Ange’s machine. Be amazing if Denmark noticed him. He’s just going to love European nights!

In a few years O’Riley is hoping to be still at Celtic playing for really big trophies. Same dream as Ange. The same dream that hopefully will keep players like Jota and Hart and Juranovic at Celtic.👍

The hard work on the training ground is paying off .The players will need to play as he wants or they will not play for Celtic. We will get a result on Thursday and show how far Celtic have progressed.

2:50 Hamish - if you can find it, go watch the video that Aussie writer Ross Goodwin did, when Ange first joined Celtic. It explains some of the "core values" of Angeball.
One of the most CRITICAL, in Ange's eyes, is the concept that every player on the pitch must be "actively involved" 100% of the time. By "involvement", it means you are alert, communicating with teammates, and MOVING (This is paramount. If you are not moving "with" the ball or "off the ball", you should at least be moving to a "better" position based on tactical considerations). Ange gets really upset if players stop moving/adjusting position, and PARTICULARLY when they are on the ball or near the ball.
For that sort of lame back pass to happen, it is necessary that (1) the player on the ball ran out of ideas (2) the 2-3 players closest to him were marked (=not moving) and (3) the keeper/captain didnt shout at the player, to tell him where to go with the ball. That's three levels of failure, and its only natural that Ange would be furious.
Also, Ange expects the same performance regardless of whether youre playing a division 3 club or whether youre playing Real Madrid. He expects professionals to do their job, no matter what the opponent does.

From day 1 of Ange appointment I have thought Europe success is the only target, winning everything else on the way is expected, the lads who stay and who come in will be on same page as Matt just pointed out. Hopefully it tracks the same until next transfer window and we are more attractive for ballers around the world who want to win Champs league and who fully understand Ange expects nothing less than 110% work rate.

Dundee united will be tough. Their keeper is good. Watt will be better than he was at celtic park.

Matt O’Riley is a real find. He has everything it takes to reach the very top. The skill set, the mental attitude, the intelligence off & on the field. Other clubs - both in Scotland and elsewhere - must be looking at Celtic’s recruitment success green with jealously. Incredible value for money!

I've said it ad nauseum, play Rogic at CF and O'Reilly in the guts, they both are in best 11 but... wait until we play rangers before we show this play, it's our ace up our sleeve. Front 3 jota, Rogic, Kyogo. Mids Hatate, McGregor, O'Reilly.
Trust me some games strength to hold the ball at feet and control pace of game vs the quick pressing fwd for e.g. Maeda (who does a wonderful job tracking) is the better option. Don't need to defend when you can hold possession...

My dad used to say about certain players 'he likes a niggle' that phrase sums up Johnson perfectly. I thought he was looking for an out the other day, he didn't fancy it after half an hour & it was plain to see. He needs to go out on loan for a full season & show us what he can do on a weekly basis. If he can do that & I have serious about that, then maybe he can come back, otherwise he's a waste of a jersey imo

Think Ange was so angry because reserve players had a chance to shine but showed poor desire. Forest, Johnston, Biton, Welsh and the rest won't make the bench next season.
