Grandma and grandpas are THE BEST!
My mother-in-law came to live with us & her husband passed away. We had 3 dogs. Two small dogs & a big Tenn. Walker hound. She did not grow up around dogs/cats, but quickly she took to all 3 of our dogs and they took to her. Our cat that really did not take to anyone became her best friend. The dogs would be sleeping at her feet while she watched TV and Prissy the cat would sleep in her lap. Mama would always ask is we got the dogs/cat something special from her for Christmas. Animals know a good heart/person and they will take to them. Your babies are beautiful and I love how grandma loves them. 𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙢

I have an 18 month old Newfie. The breed's natural tendency to be friendly and naturally drawn to people is one of the reasons why I got a Newfie. I work at an elder care facility, and once a week I'll bring Ichinojo to work with me so he can mingle and get attention from the residents. Despite his 175 lb size, his instinct tells him to be gentle around people and he can sense which of the residents are more fragile than others.
My uncle used to raise Newfoundlands, they are the best !!

Ils sont vraiment beaux. Bravo et ils sont bien entretenus. J'avais un beau gros toutou. Un bouvier bernois. Il était tellement beau et intelligent. J'en étais très fière. À tous les jours, je lui faisais une toilette. Il est décédé. Il avait pratiquement 13 ans. J'ai eu le cœur brisé. Je suis incapable d'avoir un autre toutou. Il est ici dans sa cour et il m'attend. Un jour, nous serons réunis. Je lui parle à tous les jours. Soyons dignes d'eux ! Je vous souhaite d'avoir autant d'amour que moi avec mon beau Charlie. Longue vie heureuse et en santé.
My mom hated the idea of me getting a dog. First time I wanted to visit my parents and take the dog she said I couldn't bring him... I told them that I wouldn't come over if I couldn't bring the dog. 3 years later they ask about our dog first, me and the rest of the family second. ❤

Being exposed to dogs, or cats or any kind of pet really improves whatever ails you. They know exactly how to break through. I only went a year as an adult without some kind of pet and it was a dark time. Having pets is great and meeting other people’s pets make your day.

My father had a grey Newfie named Andy. He grew to be very big and he was super sweet!
Two very special dogs when I was a kid helped me not be afraid of dogs. And when I volunteered in my early 20’s for two Vets I fell in love with cats. Who got me my first cat? Mom! She hated cats but she loved my first two because they were mine.

When my parents were alive and I started having cats, my first one was my parents granddaughter, the second was their grandson. They would’ve loved the third and my two now and would’ve considered them their grandkids. To me it’s totally normal. It’s great others think of pets as their kids and grand kids. I think of all my cats, past and present, my late dog, and all my pets as a kid and adults as my kids. And when they pass it’s awful. It’s never long enough.

dogs are special, they are the only known animal that can and do read our emotional expressions and they engage us on that level, when they play up and make a mess or something and we are cross with them and confront them they display guilt and look hilarious, but dogs read our emotions and engage us like no other animals, who even heard of a cat displaying guilt like a dog obviously does, there ability to read and engage us on the emotional level makes them special, that's why they are our best friends, they accept us as we are and are loyal to us, a dog is actually a part of the whole family unit like a family member, we love them for there unique special talent for engaging our emotional lives !!!
I have seen these gentle giants plahy with a smaller dog and it was great to see ,the small dog swimming and these guys still walking on the bottom. One the litle guy realized they only wanted a new friend it was great to watch the carrying on

My Mal's have been the same with Grandma. Grandma has now passed on but my current Mal won't let anyone sit in "Her spot" on the couch. He will kick anyone who tries to sit there off by literally pushing them off with his paws lol. It's been years now since Grandma passed on...but he still protects the spot.

Grandmas are surprisingly easy to love.
When I was younger I was bitten by a dog to the bone which was unprovoked, my grandfather had a golden Labrador he helped me get over my fear of dogs for he himself was bitten by another dog which my Nan nursed him back to good health. Also with the help of our good family friends had a Newfoundland, she was so lovely to cuddle up to. Food is there favourite past time along with drooling, when after something your eating or for dog treats 😂

My kids introduce our dog to their friends as their brother. Il hear my son say to our new neighbours son do you want to meet my little brother and the look on our neighbours sons face he says he's a dog not your brother my son and daughter go mad. Dogs are everybit family their love it loyal pure and would be horrible living without our furry siblings ❤

What there's to say but trust the animals. Animals feel our emotions. I know, in my building there are dogs, small and large. Most come up to me to see if I'm ok. I use a wheelchair. So, trust them.
Leo and Teddy remind me of the big fluff babies from Sherpa, Life with Malamutes, and K'eyushu the Stunt Dog as all of them have grandparents and all love seeing them so much no matter how old they get.

It's no wonder that they use Newfoundland's in search and rescue missions. I would love one as a service dog, but i can only handle a Malamute, lol. There is nothing wrong with a big dog as long as you can train them properly. Fortunately; Newfoundland's and Malamutes are pretty much couch potato's so that makes it easy. Go grandma, love on those puppies.

I adore Newies! Amazing Dogs! I adopt Saints. Large Dogs have such a beautiful calm about them. Their personalities and temperament are so stable, self assured, Wonderful in family and friend sitituations. I can't stress enough how emotionally and mentally these amazing Dogs contribute to quality of life. If you're open and able to it. Understand, these Dogs are not easy, be sure you have more time and effort if you are thinking of getting one.
