Some Pro Tips for the game to any new players: 1- Thatch is garbage. You can wait till you get wood to build. If a storm comes and you haven't gotten wood building parts unlocked just hollow out a large rock and stay in it for a short time. 2- If the lightning catches anything on fire... Log out and back in. It will put everything out! 3- Foods give buffs! Good starter food is watermellon, barries and fish chunks! All easy to get right away and give decent buffs. Also DRYING RACK! It keeps your meat fresher longer. 4- Start with the missions if you can. It introduces you to the game and can give you the in game money you need to buy the starter equipment in game! 5- As soon as you can learn medical stuff to heal with! It helps when starting out in caves and fighting animals. 6- The moment you can learn stone buildings! You will need iron so you will need a forge and the pick to mine iron asap! Stone doesn't degrade nearly as fast as wood and can servive most storms without any damage! 7- If you can carry an animal home to skin DO SO! Or carry a camp fire with you. Skinning next to a campfire will give you bonus XP. lastly- Bild next to or even over any river that looks like the water is running. You can fish from your home for good food AND mid game you can build water wheels! Then you have easy electricty right where you are.
3 sounds like exploiting.. This is most likely not how you are supposed to play the game. But of course in the end its up to you how you want to play in a singleplayer game.
@@tarakivu8861 LoL...I think you mean 2. Kinda is ya. TBH it's not a built in game mechanic but works non the less. ya that fact is what made me look into this game never thought of it as rustlike but clearly there is mechanic overlay. Not sure about Icarus PvP but rust will put rockhiding in their deepmining update but never fix hors or triangle splash;]
I honestly really enjoyed watching this. I do like longer videos, anything 45min or more. Glad to see you branching out to other content. Rust is a bit too overplayed. Looking forward to more of Icarus!
even if you dont finish the video today, make sure to give Brit some interaction on here if you appreciate the expansion of content. Otherwise, he has no reason to do it again.
Lets go brit, i really wanted you to do more gameplay of this. glad you found something you like that fits the channel outside of rust. :) You should def try more survival games, or stick with Icarus for a bit.
The nice thing about icarus it that u can keep ur character with all the unlocked skills, lvl and talents even if u restart. It would be nice if u ever do another icarus vid to start with everything unlocked for a late game brand new start. BTW... - If u want ur base to show on the map u need a beacon. I think it's a T3 or T4 item. What i do to get 1 for free i accept the tower building mission (u need to build a contact device or smt named like that) and they give u one to place, and if u build the tower, place the beacon and complete the mission u can actually take it back with u and keep it. - Build an Oxidyzer. It's waaaaay better than using raw oxite. - If u crouch and aim the wolf on its head b4 it notices u it's always 1 shot (it shows the animation. idk if u need a perk or not for that but i think its not needed). - Never drink water on the ice biome as u will freeze. - Iron one, copper ... only show up on caves or on those ore deposits on the ground.
Just a random thought, you had a mini tangent at start about the oxygen. It could be the planet is in a high oxygen cycle which is just as deadly to us as not enough oxygen.
lets goo i have been waiting for this video since you did your last video about trying out different rust like games and your finally playing it :) i'm hela excited for this
Never have I ever wanted to jump into someone's game more than now 😅 Brit this is awesome! You can play this with other people if you didn't already know, and the building can get out of hand i built a base in the side of a cliff and got lost with the taxidermy tool for a while and don't even get me started on the fishing and keeping animals 🤣
I don't know why this game isn't talked about more, it's one of the best survival games ever made. They have weekly updates since launch. Please make more videos on this. You can make in a complete series because every time you start a new mission you have to make a new base. Also with the expansions you can make a series that goes on for months and months. You never know even some missions you could play with other people because this game is a lot of fun with friends too.
Subscribed 💯 wouldn’t have heard about this game if it weren’t for the video you just did 2 weeks back Brit. Hoping to see some more long style Icarus content! 💪
I just finished watching the video and I absolutely love it. I am really excited for the next video that you will drop and will be waiting eagerly for it :) I even stayed for the 4 minuets of black screen at the end 🙂🙂
No music and barely edited? Ah yes give me that raw Brit! HAHA I love Icarus, it's a cool game and extremely active dev team. They have updated every single week since they launched without fail, much like Rust. Based on the title I'm thinking you're calling every survival game Rust-like lol. Honestly I think you would like Soulmask, you seem to love your survivals and it adds automation into the mix and a big map to explore. Thanks for the vid Brit!
Love this game and absolutely love watching you playing it. Please make a series out of it! I wanna see you reaching the point where you'll have to face those boss! Keep it up Brit! Always love your content! ❤
Finds horse pig friend, names him Lee, cuts down trees with Lee by his side, mentions the fact that Lee could get hurt and he should bring Lee home, doesn't bring Lee home, fells a tree during conversation of Lee's safety, tree lands on Lee, Brit is sad but instantly pulls out the knife to harvest Lee while grieving. This is content you just can't get anywhere else
Yeahhhhh brit love it my bro so glad u played this. I started watching u cos u did different rust content. I'm all for u branching out trying new games. Much love from nz keep up the good work 👏
Hahaha yup our Brit is a noob :). having played this game for some time I am still highly amused at the same mistakes first timers do over and over, small suggestion Brit, 1 keep posting Icarus, 2 stop and think what you are going to do, 3 look at your map more often, your compas at the top of the screen will show you your lander so you can more easily get your bearings, and lastly 4 DONT DIE LOL
@@EyesOn-Me Im sure Brit will get better with his ability on Rust which I followed for quite some time, It remains only for me to keep counting the number of times he dies before he becomes aware of his surroundings lol
After watching this game for hours in this video, the thing that freaks me out the most is the fact that wolves are always looking at you. It's creepy as shit!
It took me all day but I did finally finish this vid. About 2 hours is a good cut off in my opinion, this is coming from someone that likes the longer videos. There were a couple times it seemed could have been cut out. Overall great vid, love what you do. (Still patiently waiting for the PVE server!)
i am 100% down to see you branch out to other games and would be stoked to see an Icarus series. Being one of my all time favorite games next to Valheim it has grown bigger then my potato can handle.
“The reason there is no music is so you can get fully immersed!” *ambient music instantly starts in the background* haha Brit is so bad at any game he plays it’s amazing lol keep up the dope vids mate
Bro I got 6k hrs on rust and been burnout for a few years almost but ICARUS is so refreshing. I played it beginning of last year and it was the most enjoyable 20 hours ive had on a game since forever. Its graphics and physics are different to rust and lighting also which i dont like. I will come back to the game for sure happy they’re actively updating every week but still needs more work for me to grind it again
Keep up the content brit i enjoy pve rust and this game looks way better i might have to go and play it i have been enjoying all your diffrent content lately so pleaae do keep it up and i hope you do more videos on this game
My computer sucks so bad I can’t play many games but really enjoy your rust content and Icarus is another cool one to watch. I’d be interested in some more Icarus content
I'm taking the journey with you Brit. Just bought the game even though its been in my Wishlist since it came out finally pulled the trigger and I'm hooked! P.S Don't want to spoil anything (even though I'm level 15) but grab a Sucher kit, this festering wound thing Is a B-word... Got into a Fight with a polar bear, left me hurting in a bad way.. Stays with you like a bad case of the clap 😅 wish I would have gotten that before I spent my tech tree points, now I have to deal with this until I level up again....
Use your knife on the bone carcass for more bones. You will need loads for epoxy. Another easy xp grind for lower lvls is pick up fiber and make bandages
Where you got that first fish is where I set up my first base. There is enough rain and resources so you can set up a water catcher. Stayed there till I got stone priv then upgraded and roamed.
Loved this video please play more of it. But if I'm not mistaking when u out farming and a storm comes in you can hollow out stone to hide in until storm is gone I believe I seen someone else who was playing did this. Be worth to check out lol.
Might be too late but caves hold ore like iron and everything you will need to craft better equipment. Started playing after you showed it couple videos back. Maxed leveled and unlocked tier 4 equipment
As soon as I went to check the game out for myself, I saw the nasty steam store page that is Icarus Over $100 in DLC when bought in a bundle and when it's all on sale.. I'm gonna try the base game but I am 100 times less excited to play knowing how much more content I'll be missing out on. Greedy devs like this irk me so much and I gotta know, are you playing with or without all the DLC Brit? The DLC seems like a split between actual additional content, and whatever cosmetic things. Maybe it'd be cool to showcase some of the expansions. Either way I'm excited to see more because it still seems pretty cool! Edit: okay now that I own the game I'm perfectly happy with the base game for the price that I paid. None of the DLC is necessary to enjoy the game. It's either entirely cosmetic or additional, more difficult maps to play on. I still think it's a bummer those extra maps aren't included with the game, but I'm glad they're available. If you're reading this, check out Icarus!
I have been watching alot of rust lately and this was nice to watch cause it was similar in a few ways but so different, i want to see more so if you would that will be amazing

this is a VERY different video on the channel, think of this as more of a PILOT episode...
if it does okay I will 100% play more icarus
