Secret police training films from the communist era
    54 min, Hungary 2004
    Hungarian with english subtitles
During the communist era hundreds of propaganda and instructional films as well as short and full-length feature films were produced in Hungary. These films addressed a wide range of subjects, providing guidance as to the appropriate methods of protecting the socialist state for Hungarian policemen, border guards and counter-intelligence staff. Among others, their subjects included the expert illustration of a clandestine home raid, the operative shadowing of select target persons, the installation of tapping devices, and the organisation of agents and denunciators. The film is divided into four sub-parts, treated in 10-15 minutes each.
    1. Where to put the bug?
    2. Introduction to raiding homes
    3. Introduction to enlistment
    4. Effective networking
Directed and Produced by Gabor Zsigmond Papp

I am so grateful to find this film here on youtube, I watched it at momento park when I visited Budapest. it gave me a deeper understanding of Hungarian culture and the challenges it faced during the soviet occupation.
