    Thanks, Bill! I’m fascinated by the gold toning and would love to learn about other ways to tone images, too.🙏

    I'm surprised you mentioned copper as a way of increasing longevity. I once put a copper toned print in an exhibition. I was very concerned to see it fade towards the card mount after some months of display.

      It’s possible there are other factors that play. Perhaps fixing, etc. Copper wouldn’t be my first choice for longevity, but that seems a bit fast for it to fade.

    how are the fumes/VOC's with the toning kit? I've never done gold toning and have generally avoided toning due to the highvoc's/fumes. great video!

      Good questions. This kit doesn’t tend to have any noticeable fumes or smell.

    From your videos, it seems like you live in the woods. Are you on a septic system or hooked up into the city's sewer? If septic, how do you handle disposal of the chemicals?

      Hi Bryan. I’ve made a video on this and I will leave the link here. My studio has a separate septic system, but I’m still pretty careful about what I put down there. Hope this helps. th-cam.com/video/V06mLWTg9Qo/w-d-xo.html

      @@BillSchwab thanks. I appreciate it. I've wanted to try this but being on septic makes it hard.

    Bill… great video. Can you reuse the toning bath. I have seen videos in a flat bottom tray like yours that 100 or 200ml of toning can be used and then discarded.

    • @BillSchwab

      Hi Terry. It’s best to discard after use, I believe. I will sometimes mix up a liter and then split it into two and use half of it and store the other half for another use.

    How much difficult would be to make an a3 size salted paper print, or is it possible at all

    • @BillSchwab

      As long as you create a negative the correct size, it would be no problem. Do you have Asli have to pay a little more attention to coating and things like that, but there’s no reason you couldn’t do that size.

    Rxcellent! Is it possible to tone a print after fixing? Does it work at all then?

    • @BillSchwab

      Good question. Certain toners you can do after fixing, but the gold toner needs to be done prior to. Examples of post fixing toners would be selenium and tea

    • @TERRYBIGGENDEN

      @@BillSchwab Thanks. I thought tea would be OK, but then again it's brown. I have gold toner and will experiment next time. Thanks again. :-)

      @@TERRYBIGGENDEN you could also use a Palladium toner if you had some of that, but it also would have to be done before the fixer. Enjoy!

    Thank you so much for this Bill. I will be making my first ever Salt prints this week. Your vids are an important learning tool for me. Will try a traditional Salt look, then try one covered in beeswax. Thanks again.
